I don't think there's a problem with putting a lift kit in a Torana.

AND the strange and wonderful pipe has another use.
If you go sand driving and get sand flying around your exhaust (hard not to), this wonderful pipe will suck up the flying sand and deposit into your air cleaner until it is completely packed tight and fully clogged.

I had one for a while and they were great with the EA81 where you could get at the spark plugs easily. It used a diaphram and pumped fresh air into the tyre. With a 2" lift it just needs to be unbolted during fitting then bent a bit and put back on. It is a bit of a tight fit but will go.
