take a good close look at the uni joints. They do wear out and become loose but can still look ok at a glance. see if you get any movement when you get under the car and twist/pull the tailshaft. I have found that worn uni joints also create vibrations on acceleration/deceleration as they are out of...

L series spare wheel bits
anyone got the support bracket and the fastening bolt for the spare wheel in an L series.
I have discovered I can now fit the spare back in the engine bay and I think I have chucked those bits out.
Cheers

MY05 Outback $10k
http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll ... NA:AU:1123
Relatively high kms for an MY05 but with a bumper replacement bullbar looks like good value.
Surely the bullbar by itself would be a couple of grand!

had a look at that ryco site. It seems the only sell the filters themselves, not the whole assemby. Doesn't have to be especially for a hitachi twin carb setup. I would have thought other manufacturers would have used carbies with a 60mm throat. Must not be a very common size. Apparantly i can get a...

I'd rather not build/modify a new airbox at this stage but thanks for the tips. i was just wondering if anyone knew of an aftermarket airfilter that would fit on the hitachis as an off the shelf product. here are some pics of the airbox as it is atm. cheers http://img268.imageshack.us/img268/2735/18...

yep, thats what i've already got. Sorry, I should have explained my reasoning in the first post. I've used the base of the factory twin carb air cleaner and built a custom box around that with a 3" inlet at the back with a pod filter. This can be extended later to fit a snorkel but its plenty high e...

EA81 twin carb after market airfilters
Hey guys, I'm running an EA81 twin carb setup on my L series wagon and am looking for a new air intake setup. Does anyone know if you can get aftermarket airfilters to fit the 60mm throat of the hitachi carbie? I was thinking somethink like this to fit side by side but I can't find them the right si...
