Kelvin vs Lumen
The "Kelvin" relates, in this case, to colour temperature - there is very good Wiki on it : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_temperature

Can an Outback run on biodiesel?
The industrial process is far more complex & yields a much superior product - the crude oil (after filtration, removal of water & acid) is reacted with an alkoxide (typically sodium methoxide) , glycerine removed (as it should not be in final product) with the resultant product being the methyl este...

Which TV would you get?
I would never get another Samsung - their customer service is a disgrace. The TV was faulty when delivered - the most recent service under warranty took 6 weeks waiting for the main board to arrive - no TV for the duration.

Brumby Sound System
I am finally finished the mechanical work on my Brumby & wanting to put in an efficient sound system. Doing the rounds of the "experts" in the major car audio suppliers I get the following recommendations as to the optimum way to go: (i) 4" in door, sub behind seats, amp (ii) 6" splits (door , top o...

I read through the website - the two great promotional events "Uworldweb" and "solo Global Sail" dont seem to be mentioned anywhere else; there is no contact name/address for this group; all photos seem to come from PETA. The holiday promotion looks ridiculous I hope I am wrong but this looks like a...

"A bit like ~1616+, Galileo supports the earth rotates around the sun, when everybody else "knows" the earth is the centre of the universe, to say otherwise is heresy......" Actually, as we are pontificating, what you stated is a common fallacy .... like Edison inventing the light globe, Wright Bros...

Google "Skeptoid" and listen to episode 87 from 12/2/08 - its on water as fuel frauds & very good. If Stan Meyer were alive today he would be the perfect research director for Firepower (except that it is plausible, but highly impracticle, to do a pill to improve combustion - such as platinum nanopa...

Stan Meyer - like previous conmen (such as Joe Newmann, Dennis Lee) Stan Meyer defrauded millions of dollars, mainly from scientifically illiterate Christians (Meyer claimed is "invention" was a gift to him from God) with his "invention" of hydrolising water then burning the hydrogen & oxygen in an ...

"It is just a name popularized by Yull Brown for HHO" There is no such thing as HHO. Electrolysis of water to produce oxygen and hydrogen (in volumentric ratios 1:2; in mass ratios 32:4) has been around for 200 years ; Brown decided to call it Browns Gas (a term well loved by pseudoscientists) and i...

"After all it's really only like having one halogen headlight running." If that the case , it will give you some idea of the additional power produced - if the device is consuming 100 watt what additional power do you think can be delivered. It comes down to this - if you can break an O-H bond in water using less energy than is liberated when it is reformed, a Nobel Prize awaits you & a total rewriting of the laws of physics and thermodynamics will be the consequence. You cant get energy for nothing and doing this type of electrolysis (...
