This is something im also interested in.Here in the states we only got 3:90 ratio ea dual ranges but the outbacks have 4:11.Im trying to find someone who knows if i can put a 4:11 front pinion shaft in an ea d/r since the carrier fits already and then the rear is easy :-)

(hope your not just using the old bumper mounting holes alone). I'm not sure how else you could mount a bumper...so yes it is.Its a peice of 1 1/2"x3" square tube with brackets that go int the original inserts and mount using the original bolts, from my experience these mounting points are far stron...

I read that too,but i really dont agree with the technique. You really want to be as presice as possible since the center holes dont match the subaru hubs. The only thing making the wheel hub centric is the bolt pattern, you will get better results starting the holes with hub mounted to rim.Luckily tou...

I'm interested in how you did the 6bolt conversion? Pretty simple, took me about 2 hours to do all 4.Take off your hubs and or rear drums and first knock out two opposing studs. You can then mount a 6 on 5&1/2" pattern wheel, since the outside two studs on the subaru pattern are the sam as the outside...

Ok,so basically what i'm thinking now is that i should see about getting my hands on an aussie or jdm maybe countershaft/pinion and putting it in my box with an outback front diff. Our outbacks are all 4:11 so that would be easy, but i would love the 4.44 diff and pinion!!!! If anyone has any of this ...

Hmm..as i suspected.Over here in the states the last year for any dual range was 89,since then there is nothing but awd single range and all d/r's that did come here were 3.90.

4.11 dual range?

So my friend the subaru mechanic told me about an idea he had that got me interested and im wondering if anyone has done this.He said that hypothetically the gearbox countershaft/pinion shaft from an outback could be modified to fit a dual range box allowing 4.11 in the d/r trans since the carrier a...

Ok,for you guys with 6 bolt conversions.I have an 88 L with 4 inches of lift and i bought some 27x9.50x15 ss ssr's.I have not gotten my wheels yet and i am thinking about buying some new.If i get 15x6" wheels what would be the best offset to go with.I have acces to toyota 4 runner and some nissan pa...

That is a common interval here in the states for belts however it is in miles not kilometers,i'm willing to bet you saw 60,000 miles not km.
