My guard cutting/removal was to allow for a 14 inch rim, 27 (OD) inch tyre to fit under and bounce around on the sand with no problems and no lift kit. It looks ugly, but works a treat, and I was able to go about 40 kms north of Tea Tree Crossing without scrubbing whatsoever. The way I figure is tha...

Ended up cutting a bit more than an inch out from my guards to make sure they wont scrub on me while I am waiting on my lift kit to get delivered here. First things first, I am not very mechanically minded at the best of times, and normally hate working on cars as the thing I am working on breaks an...

Great iidea there Keffa, I am headed down to Salt Creek this weekend and am still waiting for my lift kit to be delivered, so I guess it is time to get out the cutters! I am planning on taking out about an inch at the front and back, and maybe a tad on the top of the arch. How did you attach that st...

Liberty Airbag Compressor as tyre inflator?
Not sure that this is the right thread for this, but wondering if anyone has used an old working airbag compressor as a tyre inflator for an L series? I think the compressor is found under the passenger side behind the front tyre panel, anyone know exactly where it is? Seems like a good idea, and I ...

Wootah! Just picked up 4 14" sunraysia's with rubber for 150 bucks. The profile is 60, so the height is almost exactly the same as before, and the rubber is quite good still, but at least now I have a base to build up from when I get the bucks to install a lift kit. The Weizenbeir is bubbling along ...

Removing shaft from welded diff
Hi guys, I have been looking over the threads concerning welding the diff in L series subies, and everyone mentions removing the right rear shaft, and making some alteration to it, such as removing 5mm or so. I have searched, but can't find any info on what it is that should be done to the shaft to ...

Looking forward to it - planning on bringing a 20l keg of homebrew beer for the beach or later on if anyone is interested in beer (in moderation - of course!). Any favourite types of beer to base it on? Normally like the corona style beers in summer, but open to make others such as Pale Ale or anyth...

Might be able to make it there, don't think I have anything on that day. Reckon a stock 91 L series will make it where you are planning on going? Never had issues getting on there, but never tried going all the way to the end before. Be good to finally catch up with some SA subies, migh tget me off ...

Ran it in my carby 91 L series and it seemed to be difficult to start when hot and didn't have as much power as normal unleaded going up the Southern Expressway on the way home from work. Having said that, I just had the car serviced so it might be an idea to try a tank again to compare. I normally ...
