Timing belt replacement kit preference?

My question is to which kit you have bought and why? I am looking to do the timing belt myself on my SG Forester. The local shop quoted me Dayco with water pump $650. (heaps cheaper online) I am not sure which water pump yet, 2x outlet etc, thermostat bottom or side?? Will have to get and have a loo...

LPG EJ conversion - pros cons?

In passing a shopping mall promotion for LPG gas conversions, the bloke gives the spiel and I say its probably a waste of time, no kits available for a Forester. The reply is there are kits now made for the Euro market and may be available here too soon. These are the liquid injection type kits. Now...

3rd viewing, not sure if its getting any better. Doesn't have the polish and subtle humour the Uk version has. Exotic cars in Oz is a bit fopar, rather see something more realistic to what we can buy and see.

If there was anyone to do an Aussie version of this show, it should have been Roy and HG.

Thanks Steptoe for tip. I found my grandfathers service record in there already digitised. It was quite interesting read, as he died shortly after I was born, so I really didnt know a lot about his involvement and deployment, but this gives some clues. My thoughts will be with him tomorrow for Anzac...

Spotted driving past the Austal Ship yard employees carpark, a bright yellow MY wagon with bonnet scoop, may be lifted as well, went past pretty fast.

Saw in Freo a dirty metallic grey/bronze lifted Outback. Can really notice the lift on these, looked good.

LOL, I was parked there today, not as impressive as your photo, but managed to park my Foz, next to an Outback, then an Impreza sedan lobbed in next to him, 3 subies unintentionally in a row......I was impressed anyway! For a bit of trivia, I remember that stretch of the Victoria Key, right past the...

EJ22 is pretty bullet proof, can take a fair hiding, but the EJ20G will just give the rest of you car a hiding and be forever fixing stuff.

Thats excellent to have a write up done, and well deserved Dave. Probably now puts any urban myths to bed about your Hatchie being what it is, like the Thor Brumby, seen around but mysterious until revealed. Had a good laugh with the comments on the other sites about your web page in another post. I...

From my previous car, I remember that it was originally a stock MPFI Tourer - a 4 plug ECU, this is the donor model you want, all the wires in the main harness are the same as the Turbo one, even if unused. Mine had a EA82T put in, Turbo ECU changed also and I sourced a Turbo engine harness that had...

Here's my experience to a similar problem, get the Air Flow Meter out and give it a good clean with electrical cleaner, can be found at most accessory shops. Be careful of the wires inside, they are calibrated with precision. This made a huge difference to mine one time, but if its dirty, the air cl...

Sounds like a bad ground or neg cable. Check main ground terminals and connections for tightness and corrosion. See if this improves things.
