Agree with all the advice above. Look for the best body you can find, look very hard at any rust, coz it will grow rapidly. Rare to find without a beaten up tray and tailgate. A/C is rare, I don't know if any ever came with p/s, but many want to fit it from an MY wagon. Be patient, and keep looking....

G'day, I've been brewing for a long time, so I thought I'd throw up a few pointers. Absolutely do not use white sugar, it will always come out tasting like home brew rather than good beer. Sanitation is the number one rule. Stable temperature while fermenting is as important as a correct temperature...

as above, it's been done many times before and is easy to do. I found it improves the handling and balance through corners, and makes it a bit of a laugh to drive through the hills. I've always hated front wheel drive understeer and loved having the rear wheel drive "steer by throttle" to balance th...

Yeah the outbacks have an 'in radiator' oil cooler. This helps keep the transmission at a constant temperature. If you do fit an aftermarket cooler, fit it inline before the radiator cooler, so it will take excess heat off the oil if it is really hot, but return the oil to the transmission at engin...

The 2.5 is renowned for doing head gaskets Really!!!!! I've gone from a collection of EA82's to a 2.5L Outback, only to find it is just another Subaru engine "renown" for not holding their heads right. F'ing great........ good thing I have a good dealer warranty cover..... oh.... no head coverage....

anyone had issues with towing or heavy work cooking the auto trans? is a trans cooler factory fitted, or a good idea. i know plenty of larger cars (Commodores mainly) that have cooked their box just towing a caravan on the open road. Seems to be always when in overdrive, so the torque converter is n...

I believe that the ADR's for speedo accuracy has changed from +/-10% (which was reflected in the police speeding guidelines) to now being more like +0/-10%. This being the case, your speedo will never show a lower speed than you are actually travelling. Although ADR's are not retroactive, so it coul...

You guys ARE nuts! And I've noted a problem... you mention L series and fast in the same conversation, inferring that an L series can go fast :p Bennie And that they have some kind of cornering capability...... :) been there, done that. Maybe stock sport wagon or 2wd sedan (front only) shocks/sprin...

agree. Its truely horrific, I pity the locals that were woken to such a sight and had to deal with it (I know a few of them). Put these clowns on a race track and they would soon learn a fast car doesn't make you a race driver. but on a race track they can run out of talent without killing themselve...
