MY05 outback for sale

Hi everyone. A growing family and the need for more space means that the time has come to sell my beloved MY05 outback. I picked her up new from City Subaru sometime around Dec 05/Jan 06 and set her up as a tourer. The vast majority of the 107 000 km on the clock are from exploring WA and going camp...

Bryan,
did Irvin fit the tow points/padeyes to your bar, or did you do it? Are they padeyes welded to the bar, or do they penetrate through the bar and connect with something structural behind?
cheers

Hi, In my 2005 3 litre auto outback I get about 12.4l/100k around the city. My better half gets about 11.4 to 11.8. Offroad or towing the 4.8m tinnie on bitumen we get about 13.4-ish Long trips on the tarmac, with the cruise control on, we get about 9.8 to 10.4-ish. I get better economy using 98 oct...

2004 legacy/outback service manual

Hi all,

Does anyone know how I can get my hands on a service manual to suit a 2005 outback. I think it's titled "2004 Subaru Legacy/outback service manual"

I need help pulling out the rear quarter trim to get to my rear shocks to change out the springs.

Thanks muchly

Installing king springs and KYB shocks on my 05 outback

Guys, I recently got some raised king springs and front KYB shocks for my 05 outback, and am keen to get them installed. I’d like to give this job a go myself, to learn more about the car. I’ve never done this job before and have limited mechanic skills, so before I start work, I’d like to ask a few...

oops sorry, I meant for a current shape outback...
aired down they fit, but that defeats the purpose of having a spare, unless you carry around a pump...

Any tyre/wheel larger than stock standard will not fit in the spare tyre well. (edit: I meant for current shape outbacks...sorry for not being clear) I have to keep my spare tyre on the roof as well inside a roof basket. (doesn't leave much room for anything else unfortunately.......

city subaru told me that the reason for putting a sales stop on the turbo models is that they had a bad batch of crankshaft bearings (from and new supplier). All existing stock apparently needs to be pulled apart and new bearings dropped in....just what I heard (or think I heard??)

frameless windows

For some crazy reason, I like the fact that subaru's have frameless windows. Why have they moved away from that with the new Forester, Tribeca and WRX?

mud flaps

Gents, The front mudflaps on the outback gen 4 are shite. They don't prevent stone chips on the rear wheel arch and they take up precious space inside the fron t wheelarch minimising clearances between the tire and wheel arch. I'd like to replace them with something similar to the ones used by rally...
