I don't even bother checking local prices for specialist boat stuff (silicon bronze fasteners, etc) or BMW stuff - I just order it in from the US. I know the BMW stuff is as low as 20% of (that's OF not OFF) the local price. I ordered a new water pump last Wednesday - it arrived Monday am - $59 and ...

The issue with salt water is less about what type of metal it is in contact with, rather how many different types of metal. With different types of metal, eg aluminium and steel in the system - and salt water, you create a battery - and the corrosion can be very rapid. The salt water acts as the ele...

Does this mean that everyone has to send me a case of beer? Hmmm combined car and driver age of 105 years eh? ..... Or, in the case of the boat, 121 years

150 or so laps (plus or minus 10 or so)

- my 35.5 was in a standard road car (chipped though - and it gets better economy than stock with the chip)

A lot depends on how you drive it too. I reset my fuel consumption computer during a track session at Winton a couple of weeks back (Not a Subie - but the comparo is valid) I got just under 10 litres / 100 km on cruise control down the Hume - and 35.5 litres / 100 km on the track - and I was being "...

Yep 2 near misses - and if you hadn't missed, they'd stick you in the big house and throw away the key for ten years.

Hmmm not a single comment on the legality of it eh?

Combined weight of car and trailer cannot exceed weight of tow vehicle when 2wd vehicle towing. Don't 4wd vehicles get an extra allowance though?

Definitely the way to travel. I just did a trip from Sydney to Winton and back in the M5 (and 37 laps while I was there) - pee breaks only on the Hume and no sore bum. The wife's 535 has comfort seats rather than the sports seats - and they are even better.

The trick is to make sure you don't become their problem - make sure they know the other guys is their problem. Its up to you to figure out how to do that, but you need to point out his escalating bad behaviour that has now resulted in injury to an animal, but that in doing so almost cost human life...

I know how you feel by the way - I had a run-in with a meths addict about 2 years ago. He lived diagonally opposite and turned up on the doorstep one morning yelling abuse, because he reckoned my son had stolen his car stereo (his had been stolen and he saw my son installing one in his car, therefor...

Mandated progress. When my '54 VW Beetle started out, it wouldn't have qualified in more than 3 or 4 of those areas - if that. Yeah it had pneumatic tyres and hydraulic brake lines - but would they pass as safe now?
