Hub location relative to diff plays a part with the wheelbase differences. L series control arms in a my crossmember move the wheel forward roughly 100mm due to the angle of the arms. There is roughly 50mm difference in control arm mount location between l & my crossmembers too, wheel opening in l s...

Bottle rental is killer unless you have a hook up from someone that has a business of fabrication. Supagas, speed gas, machinery house etc do the buy / swap and go cylinders for around the $300 + 60 for a refill compared to boc $20 odd month rental but cheaper refills, airliquid has joined the buy c...

As above, the piece that the trailing arms attach to. It appears I threw out the one I had after I cut the mounts off, and the wreckers have scrapped all the old subarus they had. Ideally near port macquarie but I'll travel to collect if need be and the price is right Flick me a txt on 0409 seven ei...

Fyi Minor differences in gc8 & gen 1 lib fuel tanks
So in trying to convert my brumby to ej power, current thinking is to install better baffles / fuel pump sump into the my tank. I'm doing this because I have all the parts laying around rather than making / buying an external fuel surge tank. The baffle / sump around the fuel pump pickup are slightl...

Was a spare off a parts car, no intention to use it other than the steel. I have another that looks like the 2wd inside that I'll use. Was off the brumby that Carl used the back half to make the trailer out of. It sat outside in the rain for ages (years) but had a sort of weird foam ish type chunks ...

Just an fyi / maybe helpful for someone. The original pickup is bent "up" in the photo

Ignore the 1/2 inch copper pipe. It went to a home made pickup sump that looked like this. Didn't hold much and leaked too

MY torsion bar differences
Firstly, tried searching, tapatalk search function isn't the best. Anyone know the differences in part numbers? Ie which is out of a sedan / wagon and which is out of a brumby. Both are 23mm shaft diameter. N2 or T4 significant? Both came of of brumbys. RH & LH matched the righ...

Whatever matches the brake calipers. Forrester rotors if using forrester calipers. Liberty rotors if using liberty calipers. Backing plates are all the same other than 2006 on Wrx or sti's that had brembos. Those are different for the caliper mounting point offset and 190mm handbrake drum respective...

Yes. You need to drill a few holes in the forester backing plate to match the the brumby bolt pattern. Rotate the plates a little for hand brake cable clearance before you drill. I welded some washers over the new holes for some extra "support" when I did this. Don't forget to take photos of how the...
