Thought of the leads but the resistence within the coil pack is as per the book and the car drove b4 i pulled the engine so it would be really strange 4 the leads to all suddenly go. I haven't wired in the dash yet so Check Engine Light isn't working. Thats probably a smart thing to do next. Thanks ...

Cam, Crank, Igniter & Coil all test as per the manual.
Coil resistence and feed in are what they should be.

I just dont know what to try next

Gday SWK. Did the loom myself but haven't cut anything out yet, waiting till its running before I start trimming. And yes I set the timing to the notch not the arrows - second time round  realised my mistake and set it properly. But as shuffbag pointed out, timing belt incorrect will still pro...

Thanks SL. I'm using the round plug type, 89 EJ S1G1. When I pulled the loom off the donor car I somehow managed to miss the alternator wires, seems they went thru the front loom (lights etc) rather than the EMS loom thru the mudguard. when I went to the wreckers to look for the wiring most of the c...

Are AFMs different?

Gday, my brother threw out a box of parts to be used for my ej22 conversion :cry: including the AFM. I can get a good AFM but it is a from a 92 model and my engine is an 89. Does anyone know if they are interchangable or not
Thanks for your help guys.
