They sure do last well, my L series had 330,000 on it, good compression, no oil or water consumption issues and my old mans series 2 outback has just got to 300,000. Way back when I was an apprentice I serviced a couple of old Leone's that travelled about 100 km's a day and saw them both make it to ...

Good luck! He managed to get the purchase price for the sensor refunded from Autobarn, but they are blaming Fuelmiser for the failure and are trying to get the total bill for the work done paid by Fuelmiser, been a couple of weeks now and still waiting ......

outtheback97, we were told that the cheap oxy sensor (fuelmiser brand) had damaged the ECU because the wiring was incorrect on it. I was not involved in talking to the guy who eventually sorted it out, so I am relaying what my old man tells me.He is 83 and self confess's that he suffers from "Cant R...

Bennie, I think what Sublime was referring to was the annual renewal Roadworthy is only a brake test and check of lights, horn and wipers sort of thing but "going over the pits" here is what happens if a car has run out of rego or needs to be transferered from another state, then that is a complete ...

Ok, first thing is to say a huge thank you to all who advised with this issue, esp. Gannon, thanks. Dad went shopping and bought his new oxy sensor from A**obarn, and that was the problem. It was the cheapest 1 that anybody had in stock, brand unsure. Took it in to a garage to sort it out in frustra...

Thanks Gannon, I suppose that doing this will check the actual circuit. Had not considered that. Any more info, like what colour the wire might be between the ECU and the oxy sensor connector? Or the pin location on the ECU? I do have a book, but dont trust it too much as the wiring colour codes so ...

Still cant clear the code and tried both methods found on this forum and in the book, code 32 (oxy sensor circuit) keeps coming straight back. Tested the new oxy sensor with a volt meter as per the Haynes b...

What speed is the noise the loudest at? Does it just get louder the faster you go or does it disappear at some point? Tyre delamination perhaps? Check for any raised tread areas? Diff noise maybe also, does it change when you go from throttle on to throttle off? Check that the rear diff is full of oi...

Help with Oxy sensor

My dad has a 98 Outback (early)with 2.5 DOHC 5 speed. Engine check light has been coming on. I checked the code and it was a 32 for the oxy sensor.I cleared the code and it came straight back. Does this car have 1 or 2 of these? I can only see 1 without getting underneath it.Is this a serviceable it...

Try gently swaying the car from side to side without crossing over the middle of the road when it is at its loudest and it might tell you which side to investigate further. If the noise gets louder when the weight of the car is greater, and quieter when the weight of the car is off that side, it wil...
