It may also be of interest that VPower has been running through all Optimax labelled pumps for about the last 2 months in any case. :)

VPower Racing has 5% ethanol, but again, you can't get that everywhere. It has replaced the fuel formerly known as Optimax Extreme. This may be where the confusion has come from. http://www.shell.com/home/Framework?siteId=au-en&FC2=/au-en/html/iwgen/leftnavs/zzz_lhn3_3_2.html&FC3=/au-en/tailored/sh...

There is no ethanol in it. I'd have the boss shoot the cashier for telling people it does. Check the site. http://www.shell.com/home/Framework?siteId=au-en&FC2=/au-en/html/iwgen/shell_for_motorists/fuels/zzz_lhn.html&FC3=/au-en/tailored/shell_for_motorists/fuels/vpower_p/vpower_p_faqs_ga_1602.html P...

Looking to get a new set of tyres some time after exams. I currently have 195/75/R14 road tyres on the car... If this is on an L-Series be aware that you tyres circumference are 12.6% bigger than stock and so your speedo will read about that many % lower than you are actually going unless you have ...

Toyo 720F or even the old style of Olympic Sprinter, though haven't seen them for a while. Some wreckers may have imported Snow tyres or rally tyres which are usually good for offroad compared to H/T tyres. Even have a look through tyre catalogues at dealers, you can usually get a good idea by looki...

I'm not familiar with this but if it needs re-gassing would it still be really cold when it was working or does it gradually get less and less cool over time?

Air Con working intermittently

Having this intermittent problem with my A/C. Sometimes (increasingly more often) when the A/C is on, there is no cooling effect, the compressor is definitely engaged, as you can feel it load up the engine, but it just doesn't cool. Sometimes you can turn it back off, and then back on and it is fine...

Definately a uni on the prop shaft for mine, but it should have nothing to do with the motor at all. Easy way to check is if the shuddering stops when cruising in 4WD, but in neutral / with foot on clutch.

re: boots

Definitely agree with the turbo heating making these perish quicker. Folks I have spoken to have said it's more about the quality of the rubber, genuine boots go for around $35, though I have found a $10 will often last longer. Either way I think it's a fact of life that these things will go sooner ...

I've found sometimes that brake fluid indicator comes on for no apparent reason, or when it is over-filled.

I'll put this event down to co-incidence rather than wiring mistake or otherwise. you could test it by sucking out some P/S fluid and seeing if the brake fluid light ocmes back on.
