Blown head gasket
Well as the title says i've blown another (both?) gasket on the ea82. white smoke blowing out the back for a few k's after start-up, rumbles like a three cylinder at start up until warm, still makes 80k/hr but not driving it after today. Jeeze only started idling rough three days ago, just after i b...

Might have a crack at Fredsubs' idea, just for fun. might be able to use some vinyl scavenged from a door to cover it too! Thought about fabricating something to attach to roof lining, but the warden here is already nervous enough, awww it's been weeks since i've gone to the docs with broken fingers...

Sorry mate, digi cam is u/s at the moment, can send you phone pics if you want. PM if that's cool. Just a note though, got it from another subi owner who tried to modify it to fit an L wagon-took 1/2 inch off inside of wrap arounds, apart from that comes with chassis brackets and studs, and the lowe...

Cheers everyone for the info, will get off my fat a**e and buy a facia kit, the ashtray took flight last year and i used the green led for lower in the console, to cast some light over both gearsticks. Comes in handy when i've spilled hooks and sinkers all over the place. Seems to be the spot for it...

OK, so i'm stuck with the old wagon for a bit longer, and on my to do list are such things as clutch replacement, belts to be replaced, maybe 14" rims, paint and tinting, decent facia kit and installing a uhf radio so i can bag out two of my brothers while out exploring. Just as fate (or laziness ) ...

Gday Dommie, would'nt be releasing grease through the outer bearing seal by chance? Too much grease applied during fitment of new bearings, damage to seals during cv renewal/manipulation or a loose outer section of front hub can do this---i packed the new bearing assembly in my L with way too much g...

Yup, same with mine, last time i went to get parts from "the mechanic", he told me to change out the uni and that should sort it out. Went with gut feeling had front disks machined and replaced pads. Worked for a while, so ok, time to change out old front bearings, did that, rattle only got worse- b...

Gday mate, welcom to the site! If you're getting 400k's to a tank, even with a struggling ea82, don't be too hasty with rebuilds or removals ,jeeze you're getting at least 40klm further than i do on a tank! Seriously though, try a squirt of throttle cleaner, check the spark gaps-dizzy cap-leads etc....

Might sound silly but did you check the thermostat and it's housing? Only time mine has overheated was when the thermostat housing cracked, and while 4wheeling on the beach after a very dodgy oil change, which resulted in cracked/damaged heads. After motor pull down, found gaps (!) between cylinders...

G'day to everyone again! First up a very BIG THANK YOU forthe birthday message from all, did spend the day moving house and completely forgot the big day, but my wonderful family surprised me with a good feed and a dry place to sleep for the night. Having settled in to our new digs, and adjusting to...

Venom, forgive me for my earlier post on this topic..having spent some time with volunteer organisations and attending searches and assissting at more than one accident scene has turned me somewhat bitter about these incidents. Yes it' true we do crave for gory details to feed our imaginations, it i...
