I think you may be reading that wrong. 6.4 l/100km for the 2.0D diesel manual is better than 10.3 l/100km for 3.6 petrol auto or 8.9 l/100km for 2.5 petrol auto. Although we can get 2010 Outback with 2.0D manual, 2.5 CVT or 3.6 auto - the 2010 Hyundai Santa Fe only comes with the 2.2D 194bhp engine ...

How does 2010 Outback compare with other brands?
It's not really a medical thing but I'll only ever buy an autobox car. Now I love my 2006 Outback 2.5 auto, except the fuel consumption, and would buy a new model despite the criticisms but I'm banging my head on Subaru's brick wall trying to find out when, if ever, the diesel. will be available wit...

Last I heard GM still owns part of Subie and SAAB and probably some others. I remember a while back seeing a Chevrolet Forester . GM sold it's share to Toyota, which already had a stake in Subaru. Saab is now a wholly-owned subsidiary of GM. Recent releases on the Toyobaru sports car is th...

The boxer diesel uses smaller cylinder bore spacing than the EJ, so is 60mm shorter but unlikely to grow beyond 2.0 litres. The initial diesel going into Legacy and Outback is 150bhp with a 200bhp version going into the Impreza WRX. Subaru designers have confirmed they're considering a flat six dies...

The self-levelling rear suspension on current Outbacks is self-energising - it doesn't use an external compressor so is different to earlier versions. The rear damper (shock absorber) includes a small hydraulic pump which pressurises a hydraulic chamber which extends the damper to lift the car. At a...

Self-levelling dampers on '06 UK Outback are self-energising, not compressor-driven. They use road movement to constantly top up the pneumatic chamber which bleeds air out when it's above it's datum height. It's simpler/cheaper than electric compressor but means that the rear ride height can only be...

Hello, from England. It's 4 degrees and the rain's stopped for a few hours! I've recently bought an '06 Outback SE 2.5 automatic and joined AUSubaru as web-based information on modern Japan-built Outback/Legacy models is difficult to find, only about 800 Outbacks are sold in UK each year. I'm hoping...
