Thanks guy's, the H6 would certainly be the best option for towing my van, its' more the fact that i've been given the chance to purchase a 2.5l Outback at a very cheep price, but if it won't tow the van safely it's not worth pursuing. I guess the only way to really know is to hook it up and take it...

Towing Capacity on a 2000 MY01 Outback
G'Day,
Can anyone tell me what the factory recomended towing capacity is for a 2000 Gen 3 MY01 Outback? I'm looking at towing a 16 foot pop top caravan weighing 1300kg's max. Does anyone else regularly tow with their outbacks and do they perform well?
Cheers
John

Jordan, love the car and I have to agree with Ben, Boambee is an awsome beach, have stayed at Boambee and Sawtel many times. I wouldn't hesitate in living there just for the great beaches alone, not to mention the lifestyle. Would be interested to know where the local is in Tasi though, my guess the...

Thanks Fury for the info, I will certainly be checking the Torque on the head bolts every 10000K's, just to be sure. I must admit that I've only used head bolts that tighten into a cast iron block through cast and aluminium heads. So it is a little strange to all of a sudden be told that I need to r...

Thanks for all the comments guy's, looks' like I'm going to reuse the old head bolts after all and hope for the best. I've had no issues with other motors in the past when reusing head bolts, FSM dosn't state that the head bolts need to be replaced, so I'll follow the manual and see how it goes... J...

EJ22 Head Bolts, True Or False...
I've just got back from Repco enquiring about a Full Gasket set to suit an EJ22 and the bloke there said that I would need to purchase a complete set of new Head Blots as the old ones are supposed to stretch after being installed and then taken out. I thought that this was a good sales pitch untill ...

You have a huge number of variables to consider which could make it difficult to calculate just how long your battery will run the fridge. I've listed some details for you to better understand your battery. Cold Cranking Amps is a rating used in the battery industry to define a battery's ability to ...

Will an EJ25 Crank fit into an EJ22 engine?
I've got a damaged crankshaft keyway on my SOHC EJ22 due to the crankshaft pulley bolt not being tightend correctly, so the crankshaft sproket and pulley rotate on the shaft about 10-15 degs. Can any one suggest what option's might be available or if an EJ25 crank will fit in it's place. Has anyone ...
