mine is a gen2. ill give the clear engine codes a go and then buy a replacemnt if it comes back.

edit: how do i know whther it is the front or rear O2 sensor that needs replacing?

update:
i managed to find out the trouble code using the diagnostic connectors and got 3 long flashes and 2 short flashes (32) which i beleive is an O2 sensor.

what exactly is the problem with the O2 sensor and whats the cheapest way i can fix it?

Hey evryone. i was wondering how you clear the engine codes on a '98 liberty. the light would come on intermittently, i took it to subaru and when i got it back i still had the light appearing. i was thinking of clearing the codes to see if it would come back, considering a diagnosis from subaru is ...

Whine at full lock

hey everyone just wondering if anyone can help me out today i heard a grinding/whining noise when my wheels were at full-lock/close to. i just had the timing belt replaced a couple of months ago. what could be the problem? everything else seems great. only hear it when going into/pulling out of park...

yeah was the ambient temp sensor, reattached it to the hood latch bit. and the check engine light has seemed to disappear too.

thanks for all the replies guys.
after seeing what you've all said im thinking it could be the temp sensor. it falls directly in the middle of the front, probably came off the support. doesnt reach the fog light.
will give that temperature gauge test tomorrow morning.

what do you think of those fuelsaver thingamajigs that supposedly increase you fuel economy by spreading the fuel particles evenly. do these magnet things really work? and are they worth the $20?

damn check engine light!

hey i got a 98 liberty rx and pretty much everytime when i reach speeds between 100-110 the check engine light turns on and then turns itself off after about 10 mins....then back on again. the car seems to run fine though and there arnt any weird noises anybody have this problem? or know what it mea...

hey, there actually wasnt a voltage drop
i got 2 super bright bulbs in and im also yet to top up my battery
but there seems to be some sort of residue/film on the glass lens of the headlight
any tips on goin about cleaning it??
