i don't think live-axles are the premier solution any more.... as evidenced by the likes of many 4wd makes, and hummer, trucks - kamatz, etc besides WTF is the idea of a subaru to be a rock hopper ? i recall a few years ago seeing the Subaru rally team use rubber covers suspended below the inner cvs...

as others say, as expected you can't jump start the car with your 19.2V cells.... starting needs about 400amp (lets say) for 10sec, the drill batteries whilst able to supply a good current, won;t be able to stretch it that far....... but in amp/hour terms that energy is quite small, only about < 2Am...

thats right, the electronic "points" dizzy does NOT have a ballast resistor, because it manages the dwell time, ie analogy of "points closed" before they open for the spark. Thats why the coil always has direrct 12V. If IGN is on, and engine not rotated, the dizy will switch off the "points" (switch...

getting net energy from fusion is still a long ways off............ here is a website that presents a very sensible analysis of possible future scenarios... http://www.futurescenarios.org/content/view/13/27/ needs a bit of reading....... what would be your preferred scenario ? which one do you think...

Yes. Technology. 50 years ago people were bleating about food shortages when the world population hit 3 billion, and look at us now - 6 billion mostly well-fed people and we're all living longer than ever. Dane. why do you need technology ? surely you just say feed them, and it becomes s...

ok so you get the picture, most of our modern civilization depends on this relatively cheap and easy to use energy and resource called oil. We'll be stuffed without it. For general transport the alternative still need energy and there will be an energy crisis. Besides the more advanced solutions als...

a lot of emotive untruth in there, obviously hoping you'd be too lazy to check the sources. The U.S. Geological Survey assessment says 3-4.3 billion barrels. The 500billion is purely unsubstantiated, and a draft study. 4.3billion is nothing to be excited about. Google US oil consumption and you find...

Have you shorted the other side of the connector in the engine bay to check that the lights work? Apply 12V isn't good enough as you've only checked the output of the connector, not the power supply side. yes at the connector there is +12V and the Brown/Y wire, so I put a jumper wire on those conne...
