I reckon 400 is good for a 200k engine with a unfuel efficient carby.
It is struggling when cold because you probably have a auto choke and when its colder they sometimes need adjusting. A after market cat should cost about 160 plus fitting.

i know you have probably checked , but make sure all the 12 mm bolts are out, as they tend to hide at the angle you are looking with engine in car. A couple of small flat blades, careful not to damage the soft alloy.Good luck

I had a mishap with a v8 engine on a engine stand a couple of years ago, It was a big block 460 out of a Thunder bird, put it on a engine stand and pushed it to the side(forgot the pin in the back of stand) and as i was pushing the front wheels got stuck on a raised section on the concrete floor...t...

Thanks to jeff aka crossbred i have worked the shafts out. If using a my shaft and fitting a ejbox and liberty hubs you need a MY2WD shaft (hard to find) which has a spline count of 22 compared to the 4wd version of 23 splines. You can then fit a liberty outer joint and liberty bellhousing to the in...

Looks like a 01 forester. Looks good, did you mould your own shroud or graft original one? Saves having speedo calibration troubles if its all the same ie box cluster wheels.

I am in the process of completing a wrx conversion manual trans and 5 stud into a coupe. The front issues solved by a cv specialist and they fitted the correct inner and outer using the 2wd MY shafts. He had a book that showed the different spline counts to use. When you say 5 stud i take it you me...

The spline count on a my outer is 23.Finding it hard to match up a liberty as they are 25 /27. Mattl200 ive just tried the ford radius with L controls/liberty hub and what is happening is the the driveshaft has to travel at a angle where the driveshaft is just touching the crossmember. I also can ad...

Front driveshafts?

Hi , can any one tell me what front driveshafts they have used in a MY with a ej manual box? I have tried the L shafts EFI shafts with liberty outers and they are too long.
The brumby shaft only comes in one size ie (spline count) so it limits what you can put on it.

Any suggestions? Thanks Marshy

Thr proper fix is to replace the selector shaft and dog leg(L shaped part that you have slotted) New roll pin and then shes tight as a nuns. But that involves removal of gearbox and half the gearbox. The shaft isnt available through subaru but what we do is use a jig and cut the dogleg off and weld ...

Use the standard return or breather as long as you change the rubber hosing to EFI. The standard metal pipe is fine.I take it the standard filter goes on the low pressure feed side to pump. You should look at fitting a surge tank. Use the standard carby pump to feed the surge then take the fuel for ...

Hows the rewiring going? You should get another harness and get your self a wiring diagram, sit down with a couple of hot/cold ones and work out the engine wiring by its self, unpick the loom and condense it by a third. I was looking at the Beast when it was on ebay, didnt notice those strut tops in...

No, as you normally disconect hub from ball joint thus not changing any angles.
