Not really - I have been doing this at work
My job entails 12hrs of nothing to do except sit on my bum. Occassionally I get up to open a boom gate - maybe 15-20times on dayshift, rarely if evere on nightshift

Twin engined Brumby

Here are some photos of the build so far : http://i33.photobucket.com/albums/d82/kentaylor65/DSCN4845.jpg Rear diff removed and cradle modified to fit gearbox. This will work in real life but means the turbo up-pipe needs to be removed (run NA motor) or exhaust completely redesigned to clear everyth...

Sorry but I hate this form of racing where they pass off cars as being 'production' based. That car is as much a Forester as my ratty old VN commonwhore is a Formula 1 car. That goes for V8 Supercars too - did you know the position of the mounting points for all the body, engines & suspensions are i...

The car has arrived in Perth and it is in better condition than I could possibly have hoped for. The body and frame are absolutely totally immaculate and rust free. The only thing wrong with the car is the tired engine, but it still goes OK. I have relisted it on ebay again with this new information...

Gen 1 Liberty only has 22,23 or 25 spline front axles according to the service manual. Bizzarely they don't list the number of splines for rear axles.

Don't need to worry about finding what it came from - it is an RS (or Legacy GT in Japan) and ran in Liberty's from 89-93. Yes you need to find an RS or GT loom and ECU. If you find a GT make sure it is Gen 1 not a Gen 2 (which are twin turbo), also I think you need to make sure it is not an automat...

cheers. Posibly I'm looking for RS Liberty donors?
EJ20DET doesn't exist - DET is a Nissan designation isn't it ?. Officially it will be EJ20K I think, (there is K, G, R etc but hardly anyone uses those anyway).

I have just checked and that is definitely an RS motor. So 93 is probably correct. you need a 94-97 WRX loom and ECU, or 89-93 RS loom and ECU. There is nothing wrong with RS motors, even if the lifters start rattling it will still keep going OK. It will lose a bit of power but probably nothing you ...

I'm not 100% sure but I think that is an RS motor - there are 2 bolts holding the plug caps on, the WRX's only have 1 (or is it the other way around?)

If its an RS motor it may have noisy lifters which they all end up having. Only real way to fix them is with WRX heads AND pistons.

At this time I plan on using an adaptor plate for my conversion. I'm curious about what years/models used the ej20t to help in my hunt for an ecu and harness. Sounds like other items are necessary too, like fuel pump and cooler. This is where I'm a bit lost as my overall knowledge of subaru's is qu...
