Actually, if you notice the front end going up in the air you'll see that I don't have much suspension travel at all. All the traction is from the rear. I actually had to time the power on carefully to keep both rear wheels in contact as best as I could. Even with the rear diff welded it's possible ...

So Subarus arent REAL 4wds hey...

Recently I went with 7 other vehicles on a trip to Morgan. We found this little nasty climb, and of the 8 vehicles, only my L series (welded rear diff), an old FJ45 short wheelbase, and a 100 series Landcruiser with double diff locks made it up. Two Pajeros, two Prados and a Jackaroo just sat and sp...

Info on Morgan SA

I have heard quite a bit about the 4wding available at Morgan SA. Can anyone tell me about the area and the difficulty etc. of the driving there? I am looking at taking a couple of mates with varying degrees of experience to try some reasonably challenging 4wding for a day or two.

Yes, sorry mate, I was a little rushed at the time and I didn't read your post properly. I don't know what that thing is, so I don't have any comment obviously. It may work, but you're right, it would have to produce some outstanding results to make it worthwhile. By the way, here are a couple of ph...

When talking to the supplier I have found them to be very knowledgeable regarding what to expect considering the existing mods on a vehicle. They don't always recommend fitment if there are many other mods. They understand that there are limits to how much improvement can be achieved in some cases. ...

CV Boots!!!

Since I lifted my 'L' I go through front CV boots every few months. Can anyone suggest whether there are better ones than others that last longer, or can anything be done to them to make them last?

Welded diffs - my results

When I was looking to improve the off-road performance of my L, I spent a bit of time asking heaps of dumb questions on this forum about whether welding my diff would be the way to go. Well, I have had the diff welded now for a few months and I can report that I am very happy with the results. What ...

Wow, a few replies in one day. I'll try to cover some main questions. Firstly, I'm not an expert on this product. But I'm told by the national distributor that THE most popular vehicles using Hiclones are Subarus! And that's all varieties including carbs - with and without turbos, efi's, all models....

Hiclone - the verdict so far.

There has been a bit of a debate on this forum about whether the Hiclone Fuelsaver actually works. Some of you may be aware that we have begun selling the Hiclone, and as I have only just fitted mine this week in my 'L' EA82 wagon, and I thought I'd keep you posted on the results over the next few w...

For those with L's the Hiclone goes inside the air filter box, sitting right over the carby. We are selling them, and have several customers waiting on their first orders. I am also installing one on my stock L - EA82. I will post the outcome on this forum. For the skeptics, this is no new gimick. I...

We are a new stockist of Hiclones, and only after several good reports from reliable people who have fitted them with excellent results. Admittedly not from Subaru owners, but from a range of other vehicles. Also they have been around for many years, not like some here-today-gone-tomorrow products. ...
