Not long ago i was faced with the same decision. I got a valve regrind gasket set... pulled the motor out. did all the top end gaskets and put the motor back in in a day. No more leaks and still brilliant offroad. A lot cheaper then the ej conversion if you dont have the money right now.

Nice Lifted L Series near Mandurah

On Way home from Pinjarra yesterday saw a nice lifted right up L series with wheels hanging half a foot out the side. It was a Dark Grey one i think with Private No. Plate NJC-**9 .

Seamed to take of from servo a bit quicker then a EA82 would too.

Hi Shark , Im just down the road in Mandurah. I have a 91 L series with a ea82 carb. 14"'s and it has a slight suspension lift. Had a look at the car today (got time afer work, with daylight) cheers for the info on timing, i was a bit baffled, also why are there 2 belts? redundancy? ill fill the tank and run it low and calculate the fuel usage properly, the car cold starts fine, though i idle it for a few mins before drivin...

one trick we have always used to protect the dizzy is to cut the the fingers outta a rubber glove and run all the leads through them then put the rest of the glove over the distributer then run some silicon around all the wholes then cable tie them all. it seems to work well unless you do get water...

yes with 27's and a lift-kit it was abit slower. But 14inch wheels make f/a diff if they have low profile rubber, which i was referring to. on a side note, my wagon does a friggin mean burnout with little cheese grater 13's. uhuh :) alex There wouldnt be any point going to 14's and a lower profile ...
