An update on John French - they're on Balaclava Street, Woolloongabba. Col's the man. Found them decent and very honest, though don't know how rates compare elsewhere with other specialists. Certainly far better than dealers. Closer to city location something else to weigh.

Registered till August though sell unregistered. Has heavy duty rectangular bull bar*, towbar and roof racks. Some major/ish issues: bearings either/or both of gearbox/transfer case, brakes, windscreen and associated rust. However other aspects fine: exchange engine, new water pump & radiator a year...
