Install a catch can to collect the oily vapours before the fumes get to to air box. Hole in timing belt cover

Hey guys, So, on the EA82 in my L wagon, there appears to be a hole slightly smaller than my pinky finger on the front of the timing belt casing to the right of the oil pump. I assume it's been there a while because it looks like there was a patch up job on another area of the cover, but im not sure...

hmmm maybe ill just put another engine in it. but i dont know a great deal about that and thought itd be easier to just by a liberty...

if i go with a new engine for example, how much would an ej20 or 22 set me back and which do u guys think is better?

yeh weights r still on. rang around a few places today and they seem to think i might have bent or damaged hubs, which would explain y its worse under braking...so im getting em checked friday. c how we go. Cheers for all the suggestions guys, have been mighty helpful :) . ill let ya know what comes...

it does the same thing on my old 13s but its not as bad. cv joints arent even a month old, i hope its uni joints lol, havent renewed them yet

yeh that was me, got them sent bak and some new ones bought in and they r great, took it for a run and they just needed a bit of balancing. threw my old wheels bak on just to be sure there were no other factors, there was the smallest shudder at around 120km/h +. threw the new ones back on and could...

i just read this thread http://www.ausubaru.com.au/showthread.php?t=12384 the new wheels i got were desert rats with the different offset, could that put more pressure on the uni joints? i had a look at em a while ago, they were in ok condition i think but im thinking their true wear might be showin...
