I dont think you necessarily HAVE to go for an aggressive offroad tyre (if you were thinking of a big chunky one) I am running some Light Truck tyres - Yokohama RY 818 185/R14 i think... They are fine in sand (drop the tyre pressure) and on dirt they are fine....on road they are awesome too.... Maxx...

Yeah i reckon I must not know how a clutch truly slips, cos if the wheels can spin still...yeah its not THAT bad ey....excuse my lack of knowledge of the ins and outs of a car :P......Ive just been informed by my mechanic the clutch doesnt seem to have much more life....and as im no good with DIY......

Oh i just meant the clutch is slippin so much so im reving its guts out and riding the clutch ..by the time i get going the wheels have spun....its only happend a couple of times....and only if i got a trailer or a boat....and when im taking off on a hill...but it is getting worse I dont HAVE to tow...

I have enquired on offroadingsubarus.com as to whether or not anyone has hit up a long distance fuel tank in an L series? cheers for the heads up! my mechanic aint a dog :P he doesnt really charge labour..more just whatever parts cost is the end cost..and he only does necessary stuff...so its working and safe!...he doesn't dedicate all his time to my car...he works on mine inbetween other jobs to keep the cost down on ...

thanks heaps people for feedback and tips! i'll give em all a go see what happens...i just remembered the previous owner had a new radiator put in....i think he did work on the car himself with a mechanic mate tho...maybe they did it....perhaps shonky job...?...i'll get back with the diagnosis on it...

Your best guide to the engine temperature is your guage. Do you not look at it? the thing is...the previous owner put in 4 new gauges to monitor the engines doings..and had them running up the side of the wall closest to your left leg...inconvenient for your leg and monitoring...(looking down)....s...
