I don't know if Ive mentioned this before or not but I was under the impression tht porting for performance is still IN wheras polishing is now OUT because the atomised fuel tends to stick to the smooth sticky surface but if its rough it creates turbulance and sometimes a vortex. Mirror finish poli...

Yes! it may increase the Octane Rating but it just doesn't have the "bang" that Premium does. Higher Octane allows more "bang" assuming the timing is optimised. Other things that allow more "bang" are richer mixtures (Ethanol is naturally richer especially on a modern car) and more efficient coolin...

There shouldn't be a difference in modern cars between using E10 and Premium Unleaded. Ethanol actually increases the Octane rating and being Alcohol it also should help to stave of detonation. You should also use slightly more E10 than Premium Unleaded because the stoic ratio for Ethanol is incredi...

If there is a workshop near you that has the equipment then yeah it is economical but if you don't then it isn't. Take it out yourself and very crefully clean it up.

Don't ya just hate it when you find out you were wrong!

In all seriousness though I find the best barometer for a car with faults is a female drive., Us guys just keep driving and then think its normal but they don't.

The engine pops when you rev it up and back off and I struggle to get it to pass 100. I generally run it on standard unleaded with no additives. Hmmmm, lean backfire? How much pressure is your fuel pump putting out? If you think the vac advance isn't working just take the cap off the dissy and suck...

Hmm.... I dunno... I did that once in VN Commodore about 2 years ago, got it towed to top of the hill in netural, reach speed to 60kmh before to the bottom while the key is "on" with lights on then wack it in lowest gear then it does turn the engine over to get it started, the battery was too flat ...

Actually... It's a feature fitted to some auto box's. The likes of a Holden or ford wont have it, but some euro stuff has. The 1965 Minimatic had it! Daza. :D Considering the question was related to an "Old Holden Trimatic" I would still maintain I am correct in that regard. People claim they have ...

I tried this in my old Falcon ute. I drove along at about 70k's and put it in neutral then turned the engine off. Waited for it to stop and then pulled it in to drive. I shit myself because it started. Until then I would never have believed it either. The engine may have stopped but it was still sp...

Save starting a new thread I thought I'd add to this one. I just uploaded my avatar and noticed it isn't working. I thought it may have been my flash blocker but it isn't working on my other computer either which doesn't have a flash blocker installed. I think the issue is the size limitation, my av...

I may be interested but my problem is I'm 3 hours away. I will see what I can manage over the weekend. If I can get down and have a look I'll send you a txt message.

Sorry about the "grilling", I do come across harsh sometimes.

The issue with the tune up is its irratic behaviour. ie. some days it revs past 4000 revs others it doesn't. That to me isn't an LPG problem. He boasts its reliability yet freely admits the car sometimes struggles. Also note it seems as though he has taken stabs in the dark to fix it, new plugs, lea...
