I have seen this often. I used to own an American Muscle car and my sister owns an Australian Muscle car and both cars have had great difficulties with Ethanol blended fuels. My sisters car is better now after fitting a new (not new-old stock but brand spanking new) good quality (read very expensive...

Check the wheel alignment. If the Toe-in is actually "toe-ing out" at all the car will wander. The Caster will also make the car feel light if it is set wrong. Its like the shopping trolleys who's front caster wheels go all over the place, they are hard to control and just want to go their own way b...

But you intend to get your car fully engineered Ben, I would recommend you put your custom 2" lift in AFTER its certified. Cos the lift can alter the car's steering geometry and brake performances in a test and coz the 2" lift does not require an eng cert within Oz they cant knock you back after th...

1. What brand of oil do you use? Penrite 2. Why do you use that brand? Australian made. It's top quality and unlike others brands they don't have a cheap variety that sometimes gets mixed with the premium variety. 3. What weight is the oil? (ie 20W50) 20W60 I think 4. Why that particular weight of ...

The easiest way is to get a speedo conversion box and fit it between the g/box and the speedo cable. It works on the % difference of rolling circumference between the old and new tyre. So if you have a 10% difference your speedo conversion box will be geared at 10% to adjust the speedo cables speed.

Bottom line, run the tallest, narrowest tyre you can. Subarus are very light and even a closed pattern 8.5" tyre will have trouble digging for traction when compared to a 6". Speaking from a totally personal perspective I disagree with thinner tyres being better on a 4wd for serious work. Wider tyr...

spark plugs are bosch equivalent of bp5es plugs (1 heat range hotter than stock) Why are you running plugs hotter than stock? Without knowing to much about your car apart from what you have said here, I'd say fuel pressure is your problem. You say your carb has been rebuilt, is it setup properly? I...

I still can't grasp this thing where changing your wheel size changes how a car drives or gearing... Its all in the tyres you use on them. Unless you don't use tyres? I'll give you my car as an example to explain it. Before I went to 35" BFG M/Ts my car ran 30" Hankooks. Say for example with he 30"...

I'm speaking from the pov of someone who, in NSW, has to check cars for safety with regards to registration. It's a min...

I have seen 1 Subaru with tyres taller than 29", they were 31" and the car was an L wagon in Newcastle NSW. It had a massive lift, I would assume it was 6" of lift but not having measured it I can't be sure. While it looked really good the tyres looked as though they would scrub as soon as the car h...

Part of this stud is unsupported, and when you have to angle grind to fit the stud the material it sits in is thinner. I grant you the stud isn't recessed into the hub and these parts are thicker but the combination of no support on part of it and the grinding of the hub would be deemed in NSW to we...

I can't see how it's a dodgy mod at all. I did some reading yesterday regarding this, and a couple of thread on this forum highlighted the danger of it more than anything. The drilling of the hubs isn't actually a problem in itself but the drilling into thinner material than where the original stud...

Please forgive the minor hijack, are there any links to info on how to do this? If it involves redrilling the hubs I doubt any engineer would sign off on it. Back to regular programming. To a certain extent more studs mean more strength. Some things you need to think about are: What tyres would you ...

Assuming the engine is in reasonable condition erratic idle usually means vacuum leaks. So make sure there are no vacuum leaks. 1. make sure your throttle body isn't loose. 2. vacuum lines are all connected and in good condition. 3. turbo piping is connected properly and in good condition. The thing...

Check out Parnell and do a Google search on his system. There is documented evidence showing new systems put together properly are more efficient than EFI petrol. I could not find anything on this site saying that their systems can be more efficient on LPG. If you could post link that would be grea...
