you know that TV advert where the next door saw his neighbours tool box on special and the guy with the tool box had some sort of price difference guarantee ?? You might be able to stick it up your neighbour :p A reset of the timing belt tension through those bung plugs on the front covers has also ...

There is a few Falcons i reckon could do with this function - say hold onto 2nd for take off in slippery situations instead of slithering away at every bleeding take off in the wet in heavy sprung arse end wagons ! No matter, can't buy Falcon Station wagons new anymore :) The way I see and understan...

Gone off on a bit of a tangent here eh ? While off the topic , fuel economy is something that has not improved markedly over 25 years we are just offered more in heavier units, not always bigger though. Look at the old EA81/ EA82 that we can get 9 to 10 l per 100km out of 1800cc in a 1000 - 1100 kg ...

Some states/maybe all states use the compliance plate date as the 'make date' for their uninformed paper jockeys. NSW RTA inspectors need to supply RTA with both make date and compliance plate date on application. You are lucky you have both plates affixed. Ordering parts genuine will not be a probl...

I have looked at the two hubs just visually not measuring yet. The appear very similar. The different pivotal radius for the L , does that not come from the 45mm extra length of the CV shaft proper rather than any angles of the hub itself? You'd get this if you used L series shaft in total length in...

tie rod taper size of MY and L Series Q?
Hope this is the best category to ask in. Has anyone the experience of interchanging MY and L Series tie rod ends? Is the taper the same? Considering swapping the bigger pad callipers and their hub and stub CV shaft end from an L Series into an MY 4WD with manual steering rack, retaining MY CV shaft...

Well, the challenge has been put out there. It looks though to spend the sort of money on each of the mods to an EA82 N/A may just cover an EJ swap in without touching the engines internals - as things seem to be these days - unlike days of old. The post does not make mention of the engine age - jus...

It is late tonight. Did you get around to making an offer? The sticking in 4WD may be a negotiating chip on our side. Maybe if that works ask to take for another drive - a decider, then if you can get one side on road the other on the edge strip of grass or dirt (the left side please , in Australia ...

I do recall that the Brumby is regarded as a light truck on their compliance plate. An enquiry to RTA may find there is reason to modify a light truck as opposed to the wagons of the day, possibly a technical hitch or loop hole. Can someone confirm Brumby is a light truck on compliance plate before ...

shielding of O2 and pump wires???
Can anyone explain why the power wire of efi fuel pumps and O2 sensors require shielding - the actual wire running inside braided stainless? steel sheath. Have all those that have convetered a non efi car to efi observed these requirements or just gone ahead and wired oblivious to the need? Any bad ...

I have found out the weight thing also Storm, for NSW RTA anyway although not sure yet how it is interpreted but it is 1100kg for 4cylinders and rotary engined originals, so it looks to be a power to weight issue. Just how heavy is the touring wagon L compared to other body styles I wonder in the L ...
