Yeah I think it is better to spend 15k for a gen3 with around 100,000km to 150,000km. Seems to be the best value area. I drove a gen 4 outback the other day, they seem to drive a lot better than a gen 3, but at $24K, I think I would go for a xt forester, but they don't have the low range, not that t...

outback how many kms on a motor
Hi All Looking at purchasing a 98 outback with 240 000km on the clock Just wondering if any one has an idea of how many kms you could expect out of a 98 outback motor that has been serviced by subaru all its life and also is a country car. Another idea was to put a wrx turbo motor in the outback in ...

It would cost $1300 for rx discs and scorpions.
The "bratgeebah" kit is going to be $1500?
does it include everything you need?
I thought ther might be extras needed?
The "bratgeebah" conversion would be the better option, larger range of wheels, plus will make engineering easier I would say.

Thanks for all the input. Thinking I am half way there, with my 88 L series, ea82t, 2" lift and 14" sunnies. Issues I have are the non std offset sunnies, tyre rub, do have 195 r14 light trucks tyres though, not the best for the beach! Probably go road tyres as only really go off road down the beach ...

L series vs Liberty
Are the L series that much more capable offroad than the liberty? I assume the low range gearing must be better in the L series. Otherwise everyone would just put a lift on a liberty and go, rather than put the liberty motor in the L series, seems like a lot more work. Plus the liberty has the 5 stu...

Disc conversion for L series
Still not sure exactly which parts I need to replace for 88 L series disc brake conversion using RX turbo brakes. I have searched the site, could be on old forum, if anyone has saved it? Is it just the discs, callipers and backing plate? Or do I need the brake lines, master cylinder ,axles, trailing...

rear discs for L series,
Looking at doing this conversion. I gather that the easy way is to replace the whole rear subframe with one from a rx turbo or 4wd (only) turbo vortex. I guess this means that the axles and cvs and trailing arms are different between drum and disk models. Has anyone any info saved on this? Thanks in...

difference between L series wagon and Leone Rx turbo
Looking at getting an engineers certificate for my wagon which has the 1.8 turbo out of the RS turbo, need to find out what they would require?, what did the Leone RS turbo have that the L series wagon didn't. I far as I'm aware the Leone RX had rear discs. Would they have to engineer the lift also?...

If the law aren't thinking lift kits are illegal, they have no reason to be checkin beneath the hood, not like it sounds much different either..very mild turbo

no rear discs on it.
Do you know where the engine number is on that motor?
The engineers certificate is the only sure way to not get defected.
Have you heard of many raised subi's being checked over by the law?

so the police would be fine with both then?
I think they are more after the street racer kids.
Didn't want to get pulled up and have to spent 1000's on certificates
Thanks for the link.
