first of all, thanks for you responses. Well I do have a gregs manual but can't find anything about the ecu in it, the electrical section is fairly basic and the book doesn't cover EFI or Turbo models anyway. Now - When you turn the car on, the warning light takes about 5 minutes to come on. During ...

Well I have just come back from a month of holidays in which I travelled 6000km up and back the east coast. About half way up I had some engine trouble - lost all power on the highway, then it wouldn't start for a while, clean the plugs, checked for spark and then it worked again ... ! bought some n...

Roof Scoop on WRC cars
There is something that has been bugging me for a while now. On some of the WRC cars there are 2 'units' and a bunch of antennae, one is quite small and I think houses a camera - for those on board shots. But the other looks a little like a bonnet scoop that would allow air into the engine. But why ...

And in the past i've found that once you get the lines off, you can pretty easily beat/squash/whatever the hex back into place. For typical bolts i just squash the hell out of the flats in a vice makes the hex like new again! But i wouldnt go squashing the hell out of a brake line bolt hex - or els...

4WD conversion complete - with pics
Early this year I posted a few queries regarding converting a FWD L sedan to 4WD. Well now its done, and I found a lift kit at pick-a-part that the attendent thought were just scrap bits of steel and ended up gettin it for free. I have also thrown some 195/75/R14 retreads on it I started off not kno...

Ive swapped over a 5 speed FWD manual box to a 5 speed DR 4WD box in an L before - never had anything to do with autos. With regards to manuals, there are only two wires that need to be connected - a reverse light and a 4wd HI LO RANGE light. technically you don't need to connect either - the box wi...
