'97 Jap Import Outback FS

Hello everyone, it's been a few years! Even just seeing my sig pic down the bottom and some of the user names here is making me nostalgic. Alas, life overseas and VicRoads conspire to see the Green Machine head for new pastures. Item: '97 Jap Import Outback, modified for fun! Description: 2" body li...

Pic of my Outback

Sorry for my absence from the forum! We're in-between countries at the moment, about to move to Beijing after finishing 2 years in India... Been lots of work on my outback over the last two visits back in Aus. I'll save the full write up and spec list for when I've got all my pics together. Here's a...

Ooh shiny! Some nice TLC, does this mean you'll come out with us next trip? ;) Thanks mate! Depends on when the next trip is! We're off to cairns for a few days next week, and a few days in Tassie next month. Otherwise we're mostly in Templestowe at my in-laws or in Sale visiting my parents....

I was in the country for less than 3 hours before I started on the car... Engine oil and filter change, new battery, discs and pads, topped up radiator overflow tank and a few other odds and ends... New discs and pads: https://farm4.staticflickr.com/3896/14425102025_14c396b636.jpg New pad vs old pad...

What 15" rims clear 4-pots? I thought only 16s had the offset to clear?

What's the outer diameter of those tyres?

A long list of repairs...

Hey guys, The outback went into Pedders today for a check up, and a long list of things to repair in the steering and suspension came up. The list is below. I'm not concerned with handling/comfort at the moment - my wife and I are only in the country for 6 weeks of the year. So what I would like is ...

Will have to see how things pan out. I'm currently in the throws of a HG, then we're off to Mildura on the 9th. The weekend after could be a goer... Aust day long weekend is out, then I'm on a first aid course down at Seaford and I should be back at work during that course... So much for "holidays"...

Took the car into a service joint today, they confirmed that it is a wheel bearing. Definitely front right, and maybe front left... hard to tell as they can vibrate across. Called a few places for quotes, ended up booking into Pedders in Heildelberg Heights on Friday morning. No tools or shed to do ...

C r o s s b r e d don't have any steering extensions at the moment, so looks like it's a cut and shut operation. I'll have access to a lathe and mill so I think it'll come up well!

Check out Nachaluva's lift kit mod thread - that will show you how to join the block and how to box in the lift blocks - it's basically closing off the ends by welding a plate over the opening of the square tubing ;) This makes sense. My blocks are turned, not box section, so it didn't make sense t...

OWEN MAAATE!!! That issue sounds like a bearing and warped discs. The brake pedal bounce reads like an abs scenario - I wouldn't expect that under general hard braking. Dunno what to do about that. Warped discs are usually felt through the steering wheel rather than the brake pedal... Looking forwa...

Is yours the metal type rod? you may not even have to modify it with only a 2" lift?? Yep, metal type. Hopefully I don't need to lengthen it, the less work the better! But when I lifted the liberty the old one was too short, so I'm expecting the same again. Problem with removing the complete shaft ...

Lift kit component materials

Hi all, Now I'm back in Aus I have time and a mate's garage to finish off my projects! First up is my rear bar, and if I have time after that it's lift kit and exhaust to be finally completed. Who knows how much of it will actually get done... So, the lift kit... I have body spacers ready, no questi...

G'day to all! It's been a bloody long time since I've posted on here, not sure if one of the vicco boys have posted on my behalf since I've been absent, but thought I'd pop my head in and say hi... I haven't posted in yonks because I'm living overseas, initially in China and now in northern India. I...

Sell FS: '97 JDM Outback with goodies

My JDM '97 Outback is up for sale as I am moving overseas. A very very very regretful sale after investing a lot of time and money into this car. It is only a few steps away from being a very capable machine. It has been used as an offroad vehicle, and has its issues, thus the low selling price. Reg...
