If you have a couple of spare turbo's. I used the top metal hose outlet from the turbo and fitted it with the tail up and then just used normal hose to loop the water hose over the compressor of the turbo. I havent had it fail but its only a 5 minute job to swap it should it fail again.

Just be really careful taking the trim off, if water has been soaking on the trim backing it will tear rather than pop off.

Unless the oil is coming out of the gearbox input shaft you can replace the seals with the gearbox in position, you do have to remove the CV's and tailshaft though. As already been said now would be a good opportunity to upgrade to a 5 speed gearbox. You will also need to replace the clutch plate at...

I dont know weather the MY steering rack has a bush in the ends of them, but as a rule excessive movement in the rack rod means the rod itself is stuffed anyway. In which case another rack needs to be used.

Yes they are the adjusters, as said above turn each one the same amount until you get the required height. You need to jack the car to do it.

I think all the suspension in the MY08 outbacks is way too soft, if you go over a bump any faster than walking pace the whole thing bunny hops. I guess it just wasn't made for the outback! Have you not seen the mountainous speed humps at Coles carpark and the deep ravines you need to traverse takin...

The 8.5:1 compression pistons where in the 86 models as this was the introduction of ULP compulsory engine running but my guess is that it wasnt a problem and the CR went up in the following years motor. This 86 only is based on the fact that 3 L's i know of with original engines all had the 8.5:1 p...

With your EA82 running properly it should get 600kms on a cruise drive assuming you havent got larger wheels or a lift kit. My L RX turbo gets around 7.8 - 8 L/100 when on a long drive. That said you may need to set the ignition timing, and maybe give the carby a clean out as well as making sure you...
