QikRX back in the house! In another Soobie =)

Hey strangers! Long time no see. Picked myself up a MY02 GT Forester & doing a few minor mods to separate it from the garden variety family wagon. Am starting with the handling & braking first as the stock setup is pretty shithouse. Been collecting a few parts, so far have gotten STi suspension w/ H...

That's what I'd been reading. Thanks for the help AP, I'll pop it into my mech. Hopefully it's nothing too major.

The clutch master cylinder started playing up today, i think the journey has begun again!

Found another black plug, so thats 5 in total. Only issue is that it's yet a different type to all the others!

There appears to be no other plugs that aren't already plugged in...got right up in there this time.

Here's the 5th which was up higher.

Only run 98 ron fuel, still with the same result. All fluids are fresh (2000km's) and at the correct level. Didn't even think of the fault codes, these modern cars are all new to me! From what you're saying, the knock sensor could be the culprit. I went to check the ECU codes, only to find that the ...

MY02 GT Forester pinging

Hey Guys, My Foz has a nasty ping on boost over 2/3 throttle & seeing if anyone would know a common issue is where I could start. Has been like this since I got the car last month. Been taking it easy in the hope not to kill the engine. First thing would be to check timing but a faulty o2 sensor cou...

Is a great car for a stockie. Surprised how well they go. Is insanely quiet though, may have to fix that! Only downside is that it has 180000 kms, so a 2.5L block could be on the cards if/when this donk expires down the track. Still has many trouble free k's in it though so I'll cross that bridge wh...

Wire up Haltech ECU on my RX, then repaired the Haltech after it got rained on. Ended up being some transistors that drive the fuel pump relays.

Back in a turbo soob

Hey guys, Been a long time since I sold the RX & thought it was time for newer rig. Picked up a 2002 GT Forester last week & am loving it. Is completely stock & wont be going nuts on it like the RX (I say that now...). Maiden voyage was down to Emu Creek Extreme Retreat for a dirtbiking trip the day...

The stock ECU is still mounted underneath near the steering column. Could get Allan to check the part number to see if it's the rally version.

The injectors weren't standard but were never flow tested. They came with the rally engine & am not sure if the restrictions in the competitions allowed larger injectors. Used to run 18psi throught the stock ECU at one time with the VF-8 but without the cams. Not sure how the stock ECU handled it wi...

Agreed with Adrian in regards to the flowing limitations of the EA82T, but once those limitations are addressed as much as possible, the results can be had. Reliability is the main issue. As you may have read, Allan who bought the car twisted the block on the dyno not too long after he bought it. I ...

Hey Adrian, Has been a while since I sold the beast but am happy to answer your questions to the best of my ability. The main issue with answering your question is that I don't know the exact spec of the cams. The standard cams were modified when it was rallied back in it's day as aftermarket item w...

Next step would be a big ball bearing turbo capable of efficiently flowing 30psi, custom intake manifold/plenum with XF Falcon throttle body, injectors, raise the rev limit to 8500-8700rpm (the cams start making power at 4700). The intake manifold is the bottle-neck of the system at the moment. Just...

Not sure of the degrees it used to run. But once it was set, the rest of the tuning was done via tha Haltech. Think it was +6 deg but am only guessing. Never had a prob with the dizzy spinning, I replaced the cap & rotor button when I did the engine build & the F10x installation. I was going to get ...

Might be time for a custom gear-set. Send these guys the info for a price. http://www.ppgearbox.com.au/html/contact.htm This was the issue I had when I had the car, I just kept a stockpile of RX boxes in the garage for when they broke. Wasnt feasible to do a WRX swapover as they arent that strong an...

Glad to finally see some pics buddy! It should go really well once you get the VF34 on it. Change the rev limiter to 8500 with the new squirters & expect some decent numbers. Can't wait to see the end result. You'll have to let me have a steer of my old beast once it's all finished. I miss it so bad...

Am missing my little beast heaps, had given me so much joy but had already cost me a fortune getting it to the stage it was in. Am really glad y...
