Just back from the local Mechanic, he reckons gearbox, I am lost for other ideas other than that except for perhaps the Power steering. Last night I went all over the L and tightened every loose bolt and nut, Paul Suggested that I check the fuel pump (good idea) as it was loose but not the problem, ...

EJ22 Grinding noise
Just about ready to go back to an EA82 in my L Series, I have an EJ22 converted L series with Liberty front running gear, everything south of the adapter plate is L Series (Clutch, Diff, Gearbox). I have been spending reasonable $$ to get this L up to scratch, but it seems the more I have something ...

Success, the two core radiator along with the genuine Subaru coolant (recommended by Paul) has nailed the overheating problem, also had the twin Davis craig thermos mounted on a bracket in front of the radiator pushing in. I was heading back from the beach at Wagoe on a 36 degree day and a mild tail...

Heya Andrew T, Yeah normal running is fine but most of my driving is in soft sand within long distances with a tail wind, now my Silver L Series with an EA82 ate the sand and almost never overheated in the same conditions. I may have solved the problem with a two core radiator and genuine Subaru Coo...

Ensure there's no HG issue. Paul will be all over this I'm sure. Yeah quite sure Paul has that one covered. Get a gauge that actually shows the temp value rather than relying on a factory gauge that points into space between a "C" and a "H". Spoke to Doug last night and I am sure he said there was ...

All of the above, especially the speed holes lol I would run it without a thermostat first, to see if the cooling system is actually able to cope overall (assuming the whole cooling system is not gunked up at present) Then if not go for the bigger radiator option. Also, when are the fans kicking in...

Looking for advice on how to improve airflow under the bonnet and through the radiator. Maybe some spoiler like thing underneath to really scoop the oncoming air into the radiator ? My Brum ran a little cooler in summer when I removed the pair of 180mm spotties from its airflow path - just can't see the natives as easily anymore:( Yeah gonna have to try something, took the L for a goo...

One snapped bolt and half an hour later the changes to be compliant are complete, as I had to turn the bracket upside down the bolts now stick up so tonight's job is to cut the bolts flush so no sharp points protrude upwards. On the upside of all this I researched the DOT W.A website and found some ...
