Not sure why you can't use an EJ22 in NSW from what the DOTARS say you can and I know plenty of people who have put them in VW Be...

The EA82T was an excellent tow engine, provided you spent money and fitted a twin core radiator, with maximum torque at 2800 odd RPM (as apposed to the EJ22`s 4400+rpm), what more could you ask for. Yeah they suffered a bit of lag initially, but who drives around continually at 1000rpm anyway, mid ...

Nothing is wrong with them, just an EJ is a better engine. My EA82T had done 208 000 km when I pulled it out and most of that has service history with no issues I can see. It still started first time every time and would run without issue or over heating. I went to an EJ 22 because I like to tow and...

I didn't know there was an AWD box with a centre diff lock?! In what model/year did this come in? I WANT ONE! and diff ratios, what ratios came with what boxes/years? Great work, I love seeing the custom fab work that gets put up here and this is another great example! Is it the 4EAT ? Also been to...

If you need test bits I might be able to help you out as my RX was running sweet without any fault codes or issues when I pulled it so it would be fair to guess all its sensors etc are in good nick. What has Checkers got left over from his EJ swap in?? A redundant ECU 3 plugger perhaps?? I offered ...

Was gonna put out a call to see if Mrs Checkers was left stranded anywhere - but no need eh? Well done. I am impressed with your moving radiator forward. Ever considered it would also work in MY config? I sort of picked EA82T to play with as it had been rated as similar to EJ22 yet same league comp...

Ok well it was all done and finished. Took a bit longer than I planned due to installing the Liberty Radiator and fans along with electric brakes, power steering, UHF and a few other things that have been on the to do list for a while. http://oz40.com/Pics/main.php?g2_view=core.DownloadItem&g2_itemI...

I would go with the EJ 22 from the lib over the EJ20 for the L series.

The EJ22 is a much nicer engine down low and fits easier.

The fuel pump in the RX gets a power and an Earth Feed from the ECU. Power comes through a relay and the earth come from the ECU. I have no idea why they did this but it was how my 85 RX was setup and running. If you need test bits I might be able to help you out as my RX was running sweet without a...

Yeah thats my mill, pity my garage isn't as clean as the room I picked it up from. So the conversion, it pains me to say it but it is driveable and will be making the beach trip BUT it will be coming apart again when I get back to sort a few issues. I will give it a wheel alignment tommorrow as I ha...

Also your RX will be a three plug ECU so that speed sensor wire might not be in the same spot or in the same wire colour configuration :( Its not essential for the running of the EJ, its just a reference for the EJ's ECU to do something with that information... Cheers Bennie Ther speed sensor is ne...

Cheers Bennie, As luck would have it the EA82T is a different ECU and loom so that wire doesn't exist. I am not even sure if the EA82T has a speed sensor. The machine is a 3 Axis CNC Mill. So the conversion.... I have hit the first big issue.... as I was testing the temp control of the ECU and its a...

Sleep is for those who have no projects.

I am actually doing real work ATM, well work that pays for my toys and projects, thus I get time to post here while I do other stuff.

I have a 2006 H6 Outback and love it. It gets 9.2 / 100 on average on the hwy, 10.2 / 100 aroudn town.. according to the trip computer over the 22 000 km I have done in it (since we got it) it has averaged 10.1 / 100km. I do a bit of towing so it just shows it evens out in the long run. BUT when I t...

Very well done! Are you working by yourself or do you have helpers? I work alone as people annoy me to much when I am trying to get things done on time and I usually find they don't do things how I want them done. That being said I had a few guys pulling bits of the Liberty toady before I send it t...
