I am moving this saturday and need to get rid of a bunch of subaru parts including brumby headlights, Hitachi carb and inlet mainfold, a few starter motors unsure of condition. Brumby headlights/1800wagon headlights are the sealed type and are still working. All are in a custom tool box, I just need...

from memory youve got the y pipe that comes down from the engine then it connects into the tail pipe, maybe if youve got a mate thats a welder could make you y pipes with a bit larger airflow - however sometimes this can be detrimental to performance

I thought the second fan would only ever kick in when AC was being used, learn something new every day it seems.

There is a fuse box right behind the battery, and it has three wires going to it if any of these are loose or anything your lights wont work, ive got an '89 and similar story, fans direct wired and other strange things Id send a photo but mine has electronic ignition so i think its a little different.

I also am going with the button on top, had a friend witha forester had lights just not working or staying on after screwing around with a multimeter turned out just needed to press that button then turn lights off and on, off it went

Made no sense to me at all but thats how it went.

Id say maybe 8 or 9 litres per 100 would be roughly what to expect even 10. 12L seems way too high. If like you said feels like it needs a tune, if its out of tune could be using the wrong amount of fuel so hopefully easy fixed. Also though, depends on how you drive if your stomping the accelerator ...

Thanks guys. No cracks on mine at all. basically if i hold the key at a certain point (just before start) it registers as on so im pretty sure its something inside and not the connectors. Plus two pieces of metal fell out of it when i took it off so i think thats not a good sign anyway

Hey all, Just wanted to check since im guessing its the EA81 you have with the aircon. On my EA82 the crank pulley has one belt guide that runs the alternator, water pump and aircon compressor. Is it the same on EA81? Im asking as another forum member has a crank pulley off a power steering model an...

Best way is multimeter and test light. To get the accessory wire/battery wire hook up the multimeter to an earth then probe with the car off until you find 12V - that will be the battery wire. Its normally the thickest out of all the wires. Keep the earth connected then turn the car to on, probe for...
