ej20 and ej22 gearboxes
If I bought a awd auto box off a ej22 will it bolt upto an ej20? If I can't get a 4.44 ratio box to suit what I have I might have to get a 4.11 box and change the diff aswell but I don't know the differences between ej22 and ej20. Will the fountain of all Subaru knowledge help me?:)

4at auto box wanted
I am desparetly after a auto gearbox to suit a '91-'92 liberty. It needs to be awd with 4.44 ratio diff. The diff in mine has failed but the box is good so I would even be interested in a set of 4.44 ratio gears so I could rebuild it. Any leads would be very helpful. P.S. why can't I post in the cla...

Why are there 2 large holes cut in the crossmember? All that needs to be done is slot the engine mount holes about 8mm, if it is turboed you will need to make clearence for the turbo up pipe (I have pic in my thread of how I did it). Can't help with the crossmember as I just made my own, not a hard ...

The engineer said it was OK. I don't know what the actual rule is about brake anymore, the only thing I do know is that on other conversions I have done if the car was drum brake on the front they have asked for discs but no size of disc has been stipulated. I did a SR20 turbo into a MK1 escort year...

I'm interested to know what sort of brakes you're running or going to be running ;) Cheers Bennie I am just running the origanal discs and drums, I have Bendix Ultimate pads on the front and that works well. Even though the car goes well I don't reackon it "needs" any more brakes, although when I r...

Just figured out that diffs make less noise with oil in them, d'oh! I'm real happy with the car now, everything has setteled in and is working great. Fixed the toe problem, now steers like a car instead of a truck. Gearbox is good now, it shifts hard into second and occasiounally cherps the tyres in...

That sounds really horrorble Toonga. Do you work around chemicals, like painting, pesticides, cabinetmaking etc. Don't want to sound dramatic but health is a fragile thing, you don't realise how much you take it for granted untill you loose it. Take it seriously mate and keep on your doctors back un...

I took the Brumby for it's first test drive today. Couple of things need fixing, the rack ends are to long and I can't get enough toe in ( maybe about 10mm shorter each end will do the trick) My "perefect condition" Ebay diff would have to be the noisiest I've ever heard. The gearbox has some issues...

EA81 and D/R box give away.
I have the old motor and box out of Brumby that may be usefull for someone. The motor ran OK but got smokey when hot, I guessed a piston problem. The gearbox was OK. They are as I lifted them of the car. Free to anyone that will come and pick them up.

Tailshaft wanted
Can't seem to be able to list in the classified section I do it here. I am after a tailshaft,or just the diff end of one really to make a new shaft. The diff is out of an early WRX but seems to be the same as my Brumby. If anyone has 1 on the northside of Brisbane I would be happy to here from you.

1st gen Brumby. what's it worth?
I have come across a 1980 1st gen brumby that I would like to buy but I don't really know what it is worth. It is very good for rust but has been repainted many years ago, mechanicly OK, interior untidy as you would expect. It is a daily runabout, not mint but not bad. Let me know what you guys thin...

A better pic of gearbox crossmember (img) http://img854.imageshack.us/img854/549/dsc09899q.jpg Clearence around brake cylinder.I really wanted to keep the heat sheild so it was worth the time to get it to fit.I was also able to keep the origanal Liberty cat,it is massive and I held no hope that it w...

Thanks for the kind comments guys. I 'll answer all your questions in 1 go. The bonnet clearence is no prob, although a 3 " lift would be ideal because the back of the gearbox is about 20mm lower than I would like it but raising it any further would need the tunnel to be cut and reshaped. I have don...

I wasn't going to post this until I finished it and had it running, but I have a snafoo that will not allow me to finish it for a little while. ( tip, be carefull of electric thermo fans they CAN do a lot of damage to fingers) I am not going to go into a lot of detail because there are plenty of pos...

Well said guys. I have worked with cattle and it is easy to see those poor beasts were very distressed. The thing that really winds me up is this cruelty is done in the name of religous belief, how can those people think that their god would want them to treat one of his greations so discompasionatl...
