subaru does sell them. GSKT - 26.3X30x2.0 Part no 803926070 ('98 OBW) looks copper to me do all subaru gearboxes use the same ? Thanks for that, And you're perfectly right. I made a mistake when I first posted the thread. The gearbox is a flat copper washer. It's the engine sump which has a crushab...

just do it up until it has the right squish on the O ring, so a tight fit O ring for starters. Do 'em up too tight and they literally go pear shaped. The thread tape also helps stop it from undoing itself. Thanks steptoe, As I said I'll file that away for future reference. On another forum I freque...

Same as your engine oil sump plug washer I THINK It might be the case with autos, but the manuals are 25mm, whereas the engine plugs are 16mm. Not being too familiar Libertys I'm in no way an authority on this though. I also use good O rings in place of any other washer - less tight torque required...

Lesser of Two Evils - Box Drain Washer
After waiting for two months for a T70 bit to arrive I decided it was time to change the gearbox oil on my 05 2.5i Liberty Manual. Not being sure of the washer size for the drain plug I figured I'd just take it out and go to the local shop using it as a sample. As nothing is ever easy i found the on...

'05 Liberty Gearbox Drain Plug
Hi All, I figured my Liberty was a bit - ok a lot - overdue for a service, so set about yesterday changing all the fluids. Until I go to the gearbox (manual). The drain plug seems to be a Torx fitting, but the shops I've spoken to here just look at me blankly when I went and asked for a Torx sump pl...
