Earth wire for Brumby Radio
I've installed a new radio in my Brumby and I get a lot of static when the engine is running. Drives me insane. What do other people do to stop this happening. Mainly on the AM stations. I have the earth hooked up to the self tapper on the glove box. Shouls it be mounted elsewhere? When the engine i...

Haven't got the official number but it was just an ordinary filter about 50mm long, in and out either end. Changed it a couple of times. over the years. I put a new fuel pump in and gave the key one turn and it fired up first go. Drove around the block to "try it out" as we do. What a difference a n...

Brumby ceased to proceed.......
Started up the Brumby in the driveway to go to work and it spluttered to a halt like it ran out of fuel. Lucky it didn't halt in the car park at Bunning's or the By-Pass lights...........I'd have to walk home. Checked the carby that night and it was dry. Ordered a new fuel pump and it arrived today ...

Leaky Radiator Drain Tap
I noticed the other day a small pool of coolant under the Brumby and found it was leaking from the drain plug in the radiator. Before I unscrew it and maybe break it, is it plastic or metal? Does it screw into the radiator or is it soldered in? The tap itself seems to be plastic. Can I just take it ...

You don't need to drill holes in the floor pan to un-do the torsion bar. Just climb under the ute and unscrew it. It's a 19mm bolt. Put the ute on ramps. Be aware though this doesn't lower the ute but relaxes the tension on the torsion bar. Makes like a softer ride and when you put something in the ...

Glad to help. It's a bit complicated with the drivers side as it had a lift seat in case you are a short A#$%se. Can explain but take awhile. Also just a bit of advice............don't use a rattle gun with a uni joint in a confined space like a Brumby cab. Apparently the 14mm socket tends to fly of...

Just did to my Brumby. I got the Liberty seats from Guyph. Take the rails off the lib seats and bolt on the Brumby rails. They virtually bolt straight on. The rails near the drive train tunnel fit without and mods. It's the outside rails that need the mods to fit the holes. The lib seats are about 7...

Recon doesn't take much to rack up 4g's in repairs these days. Agree with Sven, if you're insured then put the claim in and they chase it down. They track the guy down if you have a name and number plate. No hassles then. He just claims it off his insurer. A giant merry-go-round...... Did you report...

I had trouble with my Brumby carby and just packed it up and sent it to "Carburettor & Electrical" in Fremantle. They have been around for years. Came back like a new one. Cost was around $250. They also rebuilt my Dizzy for extra cost. Either post up or Courier. Be sure you drain all the fuel out i...

Sound Deadening
When I did up my Brumby I stripped all the interior out and got some heat shield from Clark Rubber. It's foam on one side and foil on the other. It's about 10mm thick and is used under the bonnet of cars. Just peel off the contact paper and it sticks on. I did this under the hood and on the floor of...
