It looks like others have had problems with dual range gearboxes except the reverse of my scenario, this one won't select fourth and mine won't come out of fifth. Oh well:)

Forester awd in Brumby problems.
My Brumby conversion went fairly well, got an EJ22 from a '91 Lib., L dual ratio gearbox as well as all the other little bits needed like new radiator, tailshaft shortened, gb crossmember mods, L series pedal box etc., repositioned low profile battery to where the spare wheel used to live and was go...

OK then, that is really interesting. Now you really have me wondering what is what. The actual switching part is easy to remove on a Brumby or non Touring wagon type MY, two screws and the guts of the switch comes off the locking/ key part. I know where there is a 82 model to get a few bits off so i...

Brumby/ MY ignition switch wiring query
Hi all, got a 1991 Brumby re-motoring effort underway for a while now and have been wondering why my EJ22 conversion seemed to have come unstuck. Put in a good though untested '91 Liberty motor, did all the little fiddly things I have learned here on ausubaru and all seemed fine until it came to the...

As you would know there are a heap of things that it could be. Sometimes it pays to get someone else else who hasn't had anything to do with your car to have a poke around at it, someone you trust obviously. They can find something you keep ignoring or glossing over like a sloppy spline or balljoint...

Where's Rhyndaston?
Hey, I was born in Rhyndaston but been everywhere else since I was six. Lived in Burnie for about four years and been living in Devonport for thirty or so. I know my way around pretty well:) I have a Brumby as well that I'm half way through an EJ22 conversion with, should be fun:D
