Head Gasket Replacement
After some info from those in the know about my EJ25 Gen 3 Outback. It turns out I have a busted head gasket on the left side (after a long and painful diagnosis). Its above my mechanical ability to do myself and I can save a heap by only changing the busted one as it can be done in situ without tak...

Sounds alot like an ongoing issue I have with the outback. After posting on here (Outback Overheating - in the troubleshooting area) and trying all the suggestions - thanks everyone - I thought i found the problem when a radiator man found a leak. All seemed fine for a couple of months, then recentl...

Well, after a sh!t weekend, I was forced to abandon the Outback in Syd to return home for work... Was able to get the coolant tested for CO2, with no indication of head gasket problems, also cleaned and flushed the rad (and purged by someone who apparently knows what they're doing?) with no indicati...

Thanks for the replies, I've got a few things to try. Jeff, is it common for this model to have heater flow problems? The coolant I dropped was pretty filthy. RSR, I thought of an airlock, but the problem first surfaced after about a 500km (uneventful) freeway trip, without the coolant system being ...

Outback Overheating
My very recently purchased '99 2.5L Outback has a few overheating issues, and any ideas would be greatly appreciated. It runs fine but every so often the temp will spike up, it will either fix itself and drop back to the normal range or I have to stop and let it cool down. This is happening more fre...

Found the ad I was looking at, I've added a link (I've got nothing to do with selling this car). El Freddo, thanks for the reply, but still no joy searching, I get the impression from other research it may have been offered as a factory option, but still not sure. Cheers, hope the link works... http...

Nudge Bar/Bumper Info
G'day, I recently saw a 99 Outback advertised with a black plastic nudge bar attached to the regular front bumper. (similar to a Land Rover HSE front bar). It looks great but I can't find them anywhere, does anyone have any info on what model/package this came on, whats it called, is it an aftermark...
