Same happened to me last Easter, out in bush near Bremer Bay WA and over 600k's from home. Luckily a mate had a satellite phone and another mate who was coming down late picked up parts on the way. Wasn't able to confirm the bearing size and Subaru would only sell as the whole pulley....... So had t...

i do remeber once on the outer side of the joint i had trouble with the shaft that goes through the hub (the unsplined part) was too thick by a very small amount. Sounds dodgy but i just filed it down very carefully in a circular motion lol and it eventually came through and it worked fine. Alex I ...

The wife's 2003 forry runs 235/60/16 coopers and I asked the guys to check the spare would fit before proceeding...... Turns out the tyre off the rim fits, different story for fully inflated. Currently squished in at 12psi but the cover sits about 10 mm high.

Hi Kieren, Sounds like you have done the swap.....gutted my poor old L !. Interesting that you are using lots of fuel, it didn't appear to when it was in my L (350-400K to the tank), however I was comparing it to the heap of fuel it drank with the Weber + EA82 + heavy foot (250K to the tank) with th...

I have an EJ22 (KM unknown), adapter plate, cut down loom, computer, fuel pump, heavy duty clutch etc etc... all in a registered 1991 Sportswagon (with 14 inch wheels and 2 inch lift kit) you could drive it all away for $1200. It has some minor rust, a crack in the windscreen and the catalytic conve...

Thanks for the response. The stay rod is the standard one. I just went and checked under the bonnet, it is not too easy to see as it is hiding under the intake, but i swear it feels like it is plastic? I assume this is why you used a modified L series one? My first thought is to modify the bracket t...

Outback lift questions

Hi, I Finally found the time to install the 50mm lift (HiRise kit bought almost a year ago) and King springs into my 2001 H6 outback (auto) and have a couple of minor issues, suggestions would be great: 1. What happens with the engine stay rod? The kit is all installed and I havn't done anything to ...

Think it was Al that did my loom for an ej22, came with the wires taged A, B, C etc and a list of what each was, where to power it up and place a fuse, all very easy to install, if you can install a car stero you could do this.

For those who need further explanation.........carry a PUMP (not the type that enlarges small appendages)...... But I assumed that was obvious, as is carry a jack and something to undo the wheel nuts!. Just thought all that packing looked like a lot of lost space for camping gear. Another option I h...

Have you tried it in the wheel well deflated?

My wife's 2003 XS is running 235/16/60 Coopers which are only about 15mm smaller diameter than your tires. Just fits in the well deflated and cranked down tight.

Question for Stamp_Licker

Hi Stamp_Licker, Just a question about some photos from photobucket of a modification to a lift block, can you let us know what the mod does, is it higher than the 50mm or does it slightly move the mounting position further back to provide better tyre clearance.......thanks? rob http://s218.photobuc...

29's would be great, you could go 235/70/16 and get some Cooper Discoverer Sure Trac (S/T). There also appears to be a limiting factor with the rear wheel too close to the arch at the rear door, is there a way of moving the wheel back slightly.? Also at the front, if you go for a bullbar, is there i...

Thanks Al, Dropped into Subaru Osborne Park this morning, it was a catalytic converter error, they cleared it and all is OK. Suggested it may have just dumped some extra fuel through the system or something like that? Anyhow it made me think that something like this would be handy http://www.scangau...
