I rebuilt an ej253 (elec throttle 2004 liberty) at 170000ks due to bigend failure,(lack of oil, bad rings prob). I dont frequent here too often but I will eventually answer if anyone has a question.

Awsome work there Chris, that is exactly what I need re the stereo.
Any ideas on how to remove the factory panels for either the stereo or the trip comp though ?

Also wondering Chris, is it possible to order only a few of the peices of the kit or does it come as a whole only ?

Ok, next thing to fix on the Liberty is the trip computer and clock display.... Oh one more interesting discovery, the clutch fork is badly cracked around the pivoting point !! I would say there is very little life left in it. Is this a known or common problem ? I will weld it up so its an easy fix, lucky find or unlucky to happen in the first place.... I will go with luck find...

The engine is now out and appart. I can see how 3 of the bigend bearings could be done without splitting the block, it would be fiddly but doable, however bigend number 1 is under a major oil passage and not accessable.
