Dougz's Brumby..

Here is the project so far.. Just started with a bit of body work around the tray. I didnt have any chrome strip on the tailgate and if you have ever tried to replace it you have more money than me.. So I removed it all and welded up the seam. Very slow work as can only weld few inches at a time. I ...

I just discovered the same thing on my touring wagon which has the three inch lift. Although I am pulling all the bits out of it so not really concerned with repairing. It is in a mongrel of a spot to get to to weld up. The cross member would have to be dropped a fair bit to get in to weld it. But I...

I think you will have lost the $500. You didnt mention if you got a reciept. If you didnt get a receipt then you are definately not going to see the money but it clears you from him trying to get a 10% deposit as you cant prove you gave him money and he cant prove you entered into a verbal/monetary ...

Sort of. If your licence has expired then you are just unlicenced which is a ticket. But if you have had your licence suspended or disqualified by a court (which happens when you do bad stuff) then if you are found driving you will either recieve a FCAN (Field Court Attendance Notice) or be taken to...

Subiwidow, Assuming that you are in NSW as not 100% sure on the other states. Your insurance would be vaild if your car was stolen as long as you didnt mention that you drove it there. However if you had an accident, when we put your licence details into the computer system it would come up as unlic...

Yeah, I dont give humans tickets only idiots and smart arses. And believe me there are plenty of them out there. It always amazes me how stupid some people can be. Last bloke I gave tickets to had a go at me cause I told him that he couldnt drive an unregistered car. Called me every name under the s...

One simple answer, become the local copper of a small country town..
I did.. Just dont hold it against me. I am all for crazy mods...
I only pick on idiots with dangerously defective cars because they dont look after them.

Ok then that throws a lot out the window. May have to look more into just adding the turbo to the ea81. (if this is in fact viable/possible) I was thinking about all the stuff that I can still salvage from the wagon. So still should get value for money from it..

Hmm, Well If I could convert the bits over to the EA81 I would be cheering as the EA81 is in much better condition - No smoke. And as I said before it looks like it is an aftermarket turbo installation..
I would post some pics of the engine, but havent worked oiut how to put them up just yet.

Bugger, didnt want to hear that, as I have the EA82 in a donor touring wagon and was hoping to just sit the new engine in. I knew it was going to be close, but I havent actually started measuring yet. I thought that the lift kit would help not hinder.

Yeah I heard the 5 speed was a good conversion to do and after driving the touring wagon will definately be doing it. I am not after a ute that is going to pull good times at a track. After all I am going to put in the lift kit and 14 wheels. I think an EJ conversion would be a waste of money for wh...

Brumby project advice

Hi all. New to this forums stuff so bear with me. I have been reading up on all the previous forums in relation to brumby conversions. I have an 86 Touring wagon with EA82 turbo (i think aftermarket fitting of turbo). It has 3 inch lift and 2 1/2 inch exhaust. I also have an 89 Brumby. I want to mak...
