shame, 74%. number 48, 'from suction caused by the piston going down' and 'atmospheric pressure pushing it into the cylinder'. they both are basically the same. It's diffusion: an area of high pressure to an area of low pressure. Vaccuum i.e. sucking it in is caused from an area of low pressure, atm...

Andrew, if it ends up being that, I'm not taking responsibility for it. The reason I'm asking is, I would rather fit an ej22 first with turbo gearbox and diff, and then later try and turbo the EJ22 somehow. If not, EJ20G. Being a man has nothing to do with welding skill, so when the time comes I'll ...

Engine Questions

Gday all.

I'm after some information on the EJ engines:

What are the similarities between an EJ22 and an EJ20?

Could an EJ20G block be fitted with EJ22 heads successfully?

That is all, thanks :)

Why is everyone apologising? Don't :D mine and tristans cars are the same model. shouldn't his clutch fit my gearbox? both DR, both older MYs. I don't even know if it's my clutch that needs fixing now. I'm thinking it might even be my gearbox. I stuck it in 4th and chucked the handbrake on, gave it ...

Brakes and stuff

I've just been thinking about the arse end of the MY subi. I don't know if bratgeebah is still producing his kit, but is there some way of getting a blank hub made the exact same dimensions as an MY hub, converting to slotted rear disc brakes, and drilling out the blank hub to 5-stud dimensions so t...

there should be differences if they're two different types. if I pull it out and then have no clue what type it is, that's an hour I'd rather not spend. instead, if I pull it out and say 'ooohhhhh, yep' and order or buy the new one, then that's less hassle. innit.

MY Clutches

The ol' girl is due for a new clutch soon and I'm buying a new one, but I've heard that there are two different types of clutches for the MY. How do I determine which type mine is?

if you're up for a drive mate, head on up to bakers hill, you turn off at 'berry brow road', it's a right. keep following it. good spots out that way, just don't get lost.
