Re: Red Targa Brumby

I love eating apples, but since I have a Gastric Lapband fitted, they do not go down so well.  That sucks! Always the way with things you love. Let's GO! Gone… home! Awesome trip, great to meet many old school subaru ppl - this year’s turn out is what I thought it would be last year… hop...

Re: Bantum's '05 Forester ...

I reckon you’ll find that the brackets for the lights to mount into are not there. If you’re able to, the best thing to do would be to grab a bumper that’s got the fog lights fitted and throw that on the Foz. You might need to get the matching rear bar as I reckon they’ll be colour coded - which cou...

Re: Red Targa Brumby

Yeah they’re all temporarily closed because it’s not Apple season. That didn’t stop us getting a pic out the front with their sign though. The cidery was open a little bit up the road, my wallet is a bit lighter now :mmm: Now at Boxer Beauty to pick up some stickers etc - my Scorpion rims will look ...

We’re officially rolling! https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/800x600q70/924/DjPvrv.jpg ^ fuelling up in the next town enroute from home. Was hoping to make it further but didn’t want to push the fuel rag too far… https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/800x600q70/923/lJCO5n.jpg ^ Had to stop at Deni to g...

Re: Red Targa Brumby

Still at home. Still got some interior bits to put back in, then clean up, pack and leave. Bit bummed about our late departure from the original plan but the good thing is we’re not in a rush so I’m not stressing about that. Just riding the emotional roller coaster of the ups and downs. Examples: st...

Re: Red Targa Brumby

Well we didn’t leave tonight as planned. I’m still putting some major components back together - such as the brakes! Two things happening at once here: 1) converting to rear discs 2) fitting braided brake lines Still need to do an oil change, fit bullbar and tidy up the interior. Then pack and quick...

Re: Red Targa Brumby

Ok ok, I can’t help myself with more pics! Bullbar “resto” - wanted to keep all of my stickers but the chopped fingers were too intricate to tape off and sand around so it died with the rest of the original paint I got the bar with. He’s a picture essay of the process that took way longer than it di...

Re: Red Targa Brumby

Hoping to leave then and make a real trip of it. Plans are: - lap of Mt Panorma - day hike in the Blue Mountains - need to find a suitable walk for this - drive Redback Brumby over the big coat hanger - possibly catch up with an old mate that lives up that way Still got heaps to do. But one big step...

Re: Trip Report! Border track 2024

Awesome trip! You had me missing that place - you’re so right when you say it’s amazing country! There’s something about the Mallee… and it’s very close to what WA have around the Holland Trk. Wish I could’ve been there - I really want to get Ruby Scoo going and after Subinats I reckon that’ll be a ...

Need to replace the 'Scorpion' sticker ... ! 100% need to get this done! I’m waiting on Sean from Boxer Beauty and he’s got me nervous as I’m leaving in about a week and a half so it’s starting to cut it fine with Auspost in the mix :mmm: I realise he’s flat out as I believe he’s doing all the stic...

Re: Red Targa Brumby

Update on things ordered: - I picked up the rear discs mid week and thus have put the flexible hose part in for a template for braided lines to finish off a Brumby braided line kit I was given. - I dropped into a paint joint and now have two cans of the colour I’m chasing being made up. I pick up bo...

Re: Red Targa Brumby

Hahaha Sam… yeah it’s a rabbit hole that’s for sure! I’m still chasing the green I want to paint the calipers, it has to be the correct green otherwise I’ve got a crisp yellow in line which is what will probably end up happening at the rate things are going… Bumpty, it’ll be so good once it’s finish...

Rims are done!!! https://imagizer.imageshack.com/v2/800x600q70/922/C7CJrv.jpg Hoping to pick them up with tyres fitted tomorrow. Re: Red Targa Brumby

Whoa Sam that’s AWESOME! And recognition of your efforts with your wagon build. I’m guessing you submitted some pics of your wagon to be selected? You must be stoked! I’m thinking I should have sorted the power window wiring to add to the grommets now rather than later. Too late now anyway, and I’ve...

looking good HENPECKED!! How are you mate? Good to see you on the forum again. Since I needed to remove the door cards I thought it a good time to finally install the cent...

Re: Silverbullets' resto: Engine, gearbox, suspension

Ooh I like the look of that latch design! I’m keen to see how this all goes together with the slings etc. Will you be adding gas struts? Worth it if your hinges are silky smooth, otherwise one arm will always want to close when you’re parked on a slight angle. Something to think about! Cheers Bennie

Re: Red Targa Brumby

YEAH AWESOME Sam!!! Can’t wait for Subinats  The show and shine is in the arvo this year which will be very different to last year. It might give us older Subaru nuts more time to group together for the bump in. It would be the best if we got everyone in a factory non-EJ model lined up righ...

Re: Red Targa Brumby

I’ve heard there’s about 14 Brumby’s signed up for the show and shine. I booked my spot last night so we’re in now! I always stress about drivetrain components, my gearbox has a little whine in it and it leaks oil which reminds me I should check it again, it’s been awhile. I’ll run it and see how it...
