I get the odd thumbs up from other Brumby drivers- I think it's the wheels.

I've been known to do the same thing if I like the look of the Brumby going past me.

Saw Ruby Scoo this morning whilst out and about in the work ute- pretty sure I've thrown my neck out watching it go past :)

I'm up for a trip.

New work situation rules out Saturday mornings at least, but if it wasn't too far away I could easily pull off an arvo or sunday punt. Haven't really done much trekking since missing the SA trip, but I'm getting bored of the trails around Bendigo.

They would probably be ok if they were white, but blue? Agreed. They'd make a nice compliment to the parking lights, like these ones: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/NEW-PAIR-H4-7-CRYSTAL-H-LAMPS-LED-RING-XT6003LED-/230603501294?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item35b10a2eee#ht_2463wt_1139 I'd steer clear ...

Now that my employment situation has improved greatly, the Brumby is going to greatly benefit from this. A replacement bullbar is on the list, along with the canopy that I've been trying to find for ages. There's a mob in QLD that makes them still, but freight is an absolute killer! Adding to that, ...

I did drive past a First Gen Brumby for sale on the side of the road in Huntly, just north of Bendigo... was complete but the paint looked pretty sad. If anyone's interested I could take some snaps of it and grab the seller's details? I don't believe these come up too often.

Kicking myself that I missed this. You guys look like you've had an incredible time. Lack of preparation on my part is partly to blame, coupled with some recent events going on in my area. I did however make it to SA last thursday/friday- Drove the Brumby to Adelaide for a job interview and back in ...

Someone could do a very lucrative trade selling modified EJ harnesses to suit the older cars, especially if they came with comprehensive instructions for plug n play. I for one would line up for a kit.

There's a few points that should be raised here regarding the floods: Firstly (this point mainly concerns myself, but others may be in a similar situation) I was involved in an expedition to Serpentine- the town I grew up in and where our family home still stands- au the weekend. It is situated on t...

I'm good to go- had a good run of things falling into place with the Brumby this week. Just need to arrange my comms gear and fashion a sand flag and find somewhere to mount it. Mine is still stock mechanically and suspension wise, and the new rollers haven't given me a huge boost in ground clearanc...

I'd seriously consider some flywire over the radiator - I don't know what the locust situation is in Robe, I wouldn't think its bad at all but it could be the travelling in between that catches us/you out. I'll be looking at rigging something up if I have time to do so - you can always take it off ...

Thanks Paul! Well, the fun continued today and it's not only been enjoyable- it's been an education. For the princely sum of twenty bucks, I had the top bracket repaired in the radiator. I'm not overly savvy with metal joining, but it's either been soldered or brazed back on. I might fit some flywir...

Well, what a day I've had... and I'm still smiling from the outcome :) I put aside a few days to give the Brumby a late birthday present- a major service. I'd head down to Dad's place in Melbourne (wider range of tools, garage space and the classic "two heads are better than one, except in Tassie" a...

I'll be hitting up all the regularly spoken of wreckers in this thread (PAP, Centre Rd etc.) over the next few days. See if I can't find some 14s or a canopy. Never been on a wrecker crawl before :D Has anyone had any good experiences with Subaru-specific wreckers around Melbourne? Are they generall...

I'm still a goer- Alt was repaired this week, plus I'm in Melbourne for the next few days chasing bits and giving the ute a thorough going over with the old man assisting. I'm not sure if this is too early days to discuss, but are we all making our own individual ways to Robe, or (my preference) go ...

Aaaaaand now the alternator's decided to go on strike. Love it when gremlins come to do some work on the Brumby!

On the plus side, my charging system will now be well up to the task... And if I can find the right guts to put in it my stereo install can go ahead :)

I didn't win the canopy on eBay :( I was, however blessed with a nice assortment of camping gear for Christmas, including one of those good quality eskies that's meant to keep ice solid for up to a week. Could be a sign for me to still go, perhaps? Once I've got tyres and an alignment done I shall r...

Nice find, coxy.

I also don't mind their "Sunset Country" wheels, either- An nice variation on the Desert Rat design.

I'm going to email these guys and ask about their wheel resizing prices... Otherwise, maybe a group buy on one of their own designs?
