the only difference that i am aware of with the gen2 brumbys was that the early (i think 82-83) ones had a rail with tie down hooks on it and no stainless strips whereas the later ones only had the stainless strips there may be a slight height difference here. my experence with fitting these canopie...

i believe crossbred performance have a spacer kit that goes between the inner tierod and the rack on each side to limit the steering travel alternatively you could fabricate some stoppers on the lower controll arm with a bolt that adjusts the travel. have a look at a datsun or nissan as they have th...

Yes you are totally correct however you must consider that a hydraulic lifter slowly bleeds off oil therefore when the pressure is higher ( using revs) it will hold the pressure a little longer before it bleeds out and hence not tick I guess if you let it idle for a long time it would evenyually sta...

i know this may be a little off the solid lifter article but i have cured many ea82 lifter rattling by simply shimming the oil pump pressure relief spring. what this does is give the motor a slightly higher oil pressure (especially at idle) which seems to stop the annoying ticking, I dont know if th...

i recently pulled down an ej25 dohc motor with 280000ks all the oil controll rings were stuck in the pistons and the motor was burning oil, the cause looks to be a build up of carbon depositing around the ring area holding the rings in and stopping them contacting the cylinder properly. I have seen ...

clicking gearbox
In the past a have worked on gearboxes such as the old holden aussie 4 speed where a clicking sound usually meant a chipped or broken gear (maybe only half a tooth) but the noise is very audible
just a guess but the only real way to know is a gearbox ortopsy........

My advise........ Buy your missus a STANDARD late model car, that way when something goes wrong she cannot blame you and you can blame the dodgey car manufacturer. Seriously though doing cars up takes lots of time and more money than you anticipate 5/7 k would pick up a nice forester or liberty whic...
