I now have a new battery and today I visited a nearby wreckers and managed to pick up an ignition switch (and a jack handle) for 10 bucks. Fitted it when I got home and it works perfectly! Lucky I didn't just go ahead and pay for a new one from Subaru.

Hi everyone I'm actually putting the dash back in now but I didn't wanna start a whole new thread. Anyway, I have a few queries I wouldn't mind sorting out before I go too far: 1. Does anyone know if the main wiring loom sits above the steering column or below it? I've got it above at the moment but...

Just a quick update. I got it started the other day. I had charged my battery thinking it would rule that out as an issue but I still couldn't get it to turn over. Engine moved by hand but starter would only click. I thought the starter was bad at first but turns out it was my battery. I borrowed on...

Old style fusible links
Hi Guys
Anyone tried buying replacement fusible links recently? I've been trying to replace the ones in my Brumby but nobody here in Mackay seems to stock them. Just wondered if anyone had bought any recently and where from.
Cheers

Hi everybody Been a while since I posted an update but I have made some progress. After much bogging, sanding, bogging, sanding etc, I finally got the Brumby ready for paint. I was thinking of having a go myself but a mate from work kindly stepped in. He used to be a panel beater so knows how to han...

I got an aerial for my Brumby in Autobarn for around 40 bucks. It's an aftermarket one and I think it just said Subaru Top Mount on the packet. The bracket is a slightly different angle but I just used my existing bracket which was fine - only my aerial was snapped. It also came with a new plastic t...

Brumby windscreen rubber
Hi Guys I bought a windscreen rubber off ebay and I have just noticed that the 2 drain holes in the bottom are not cut out. Do you think I should attempt to cut them out myself (could be tricky) or will it be better to leave it? I don't wanna wreck the seal trying to cut them out but they must be th...

Thanks for the encouragement guys. I was thinking about what I could use in the cavities so I will definitely get some of that Lanotec. I reckon this car has been use around someone's farm for a couple of years - you wouldn't believe the amount of dirt and dust I've cleaned out of... everywhere! Def...

Hey guys Here's a few pics of the new metal that's gone in so far... This is inside under the windscreen. Very tricky to get good access but I did the best I could. I figure messy welding is better than rust! http://i261.photobucket.com/albums/ii41/thedaviddawson/The%20Brumby/UnderwindscreenRHrepair...
