This is sold now. I sold it locally so the SA guys might see it around.
Many thanks for all the help from here over the years. You never know, I may own another Subaru at some point....
Cheers

Sorry guys, I am an SA member with a Brumby for sale. Unfortunately, it can't accommodate the family and I can't realistically keep it. Hopefully it will be sold to someone local and I'll be sure to advise them to join up here. It's a shame if facebook is preventing people from joining - I'm a membe...

'87 Brumby for sale (SA)
Hi guys Sadly, the time has come to sell my Brumby. I have bought another vehicle to accommodate the increase in family members (2 kids since I bought the Brumby!) and cannot realistically afford the time, space and money to keep it. Here's the build thread http://ausubaru.com.au/showthread.php?t=18...

Got the engine back in today, went in ok apart from the last 50mm or so. Everything was lined up but I just couldn't seem to get the block to meet the transmission. Lots of jiggling and wiggling and pushing and pulling and swearing got it there eventually. I also swapped the steering rack for a (hop...

Got the engine out today and took the clutch out to order a new one. Should be here tomorrow - 225mm and 21 splines just for info. Everything came apart ok, the trickiest bit was actually separating the engine from the transmission. Had to wiggle it about a fair bit to get it free from the studs. It...

Improvement after replacing alternator
hi guys As the title suggests, I recently replaced the alternator on my '87 EA81 Brumby and I could swear the car is running better now. It was a like-for-like used replacement from an MY wagon. It was the voltage regulator that was faulty on the old one. Am I just imagining this or is there any rea...

Still hoping to do this at some point. Long story short - 'replacement' for the Brumby (bigger family, extra seats etc.) is taking longer to hit the road than I expected. Anyway, I picked up a flywheel at U-Pull-It which I'm hoping to clean up to swap with mine to save a bit of downtime. Are there a...

Looks like I'm gonna have to take it apart and see what clutch I have (diameter / spline count) before I order anything. Been reading in the Gregory's manual and there is mention of replacing an O-ring on the flywheel. Quick search on here reveals this might not always be relevant. Is this something...
